The Alabama Crimson Tide remains as the No. 1 team in the nation in the second College Football Playoffs . They will face off against LSU…

Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team remain the No. 1 team in the nation, according to the latest College Football Playoff rankings, as released on ESPN.

Alabama was named No. 1 last week by the College Football Playoff committee in their first rankings of the 2020 season.

The Crimson Tide entered the 2020 Iron Bowl against No. 22 Auburn last Saturday and did not show any signs of slowing down as the season heads toward the home stretch.

There is some company alongside Alabama in the top four. If the season ended today, here is who would be in the playoffs in contention for a National Championship:

  1. Alabama
  2. Notre Dame
  3. Clemson
  4. Ohio State

The first two out: (5) Texas A&M and (6) Florida are still in the running and could see a potential shake up inside the top four and sneak their way into the playoffs.

Alabama will head to Baton Rouge as the top team in the nation to face off against LSU.
