Celtics’ Derrick White earns first career triple-double in blowout win vs. Pistons

White put up the first triple-double of his career in the Celtics’ recent win over the Detroit Pistons.

Derrick White has taken his game to new levels since he was traded from the San Antonio Spurs to the Boston Celtics, elevating his game from a borderline starter to a borderline All-Star. And it is on the defensive end that the Colorado native excels the most, leading the NBA in blocks by a guard and making a real case for First Team All-Defense.

Even with all of this going for him, somehow, White put up the first triple-double of his career in the Celtics’ recent win over the Detroit Pistons at TD Garden, putting up 22 points, 10 rebounds, and as many assists in the win.

To talk over White’s impressive night against Detroit, the host of the NBC Sports Boston “Celtics Talk” podcast Chris Forsberg linked up with Jen Rizzotti, Ashley Battle, Abby Chin, DiJonai Carrington, Zora Stephenson, and Amina Smith.
