All four of Oklahoma’s prized NFL Draft prospects shined in Indianapolis, but two solidified their status inside the 2020 NFL Draft’s first round after the NFL Combine.
Kenneth Murray ran and CeeDee Lamb jumped with both leaving Draft analysts star struck. In the latest mock drafts after the NFL Combine by NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah and Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller, the two Oklahoma stars are locked into being top-20 picks.
Jeremiah has Murray being the first true linebacker taken by the Denver Broncos at No. 15. Lamb fell to being the second wide receiver taken after Jerry Jeudy and going close to home at No. 17 the Dallas Cowboys, who Jeremiah says would be a great replacement for star receiver Amari Cooper that could go elsewhere in free agency.
Miller, who has been extremely high on Murray’s NFL potential before the 2019 season even began, has the Las Vegas Raiders trading up to the 19th pick to select Oklahoma’s star linebacker.
“For a team that has recently been very bad at defending the middle of the field, a linebacker with Murray’s range, instincts and toughness is a quick fix,” Miller wrote. “Murray dominated as a one-man wrecking crew for the Oklahoma defense but has more natural athleticism than many would expect from a player who was so impactful in the run game.
“He’s a true three-down linebacker with the speed to cover tight ends but the toughness to step up and stop the run.”
He also has Lamb as the second wide receiver taken and going to the Denver Broncos with the 15th pick.
Neville Gallimore and Jalen Hurts can be found among the second and third rounds depending on which mock draft you look at.
Oklahoma’s Pro Day will be on March 11 in Norman, Oklahoma. The NFL Draft will take place in Las Vegas from April 23-25.
