Titans GM Ran Carthon hilariously video bombs reporter

Titans GM Ran Carthon showed his lighter side on Wednesday by crashing a video report from a FOX Nashville reporter.

Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon showed his lighter side on Wednesday when he video bombed a reporter who was in the midst of recording a segment.

The Titans held their second open practice of organized team activities on Wednesday, and afterwards FOX Nashville’s Jill Jelnick did a report from in front of the team’s building.

However, her report was crashed when Carthon stood in the background waving in what was a hilarious move. It was all in good fun, and Jelnick got a kick out of it once she realized what was going on.

Former Titans general manager Jon Robinson would never. Check out the funny clip below.

One thing that has been very clear between this new regime and the last one is there is a lot more levity in the building.

In fact, even tight end Chig Okonkwo recently revealed that the culture and atmosphere inside the building is “more relaxed” and “free” these days, and players are able to be themselves more.

Recently, the Titans had head coach Brian Callahan mic’d up for one of the practices, which you can check out below.

There are two notable things from this clip:

  1. Callahan obviously has a good relationship with new wide receiver Tyler Boyd, which isn’t surprising considering the pair spent five seasons together with the Cincinnati Bengals.
  2. Callahan has a much more toned down approach than former head coach Mike Vrabel, who did more yelling.

Even before watching this clip, we knew that Callahan has a very player-friendly approach that gives players more input. W

We’ll see if things change down the road, but for now his style is a notable change from Vrabel’s.

Romain Dumas, the all-time course record holder at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, will return for the 102nd running of the event on Sunday, June 23 driving a new electric Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck.

“I am glad to come back to Pikes Peak. It’s always great to be on the mountain and meet the fans again,” said Dumas. “It’s obviously nice to continue the journey with Ford Performance and it’s quite exciting to have a new car to continue the development of electric technology.”

Last year, Dumas raced to the summit in the Pikes Peak Open division behind the wheel of a Ford Performance SuperVan 4.2 (pictured), winning the division and finishing second overall.

“We always want to do better,” he said. “Our target is clearly to be fast, but to state a time I expect to run…that is still a bit mysterious because at Pikes Peak you have to expect the unexpected.”

In 2018, Dumas raced the all-electric Volkswagen ID R to the summit of Pikes Peak in 2018 to set the existing record of 7m57.148s on the 12.42-mile (20 km) course consisting of 156 turns that boasts an elevation gain of 4,725 feet (1,440 meters).

Social media reacts to WR Jaylen Waddle’s extension with Dolphins

Several of Jaylen Waddle’s teammates were among those celebrating the news of his extension with the Dolphins.

The Miami Dolphins locked up one of their most dangerous offensive weapons for the long-term Thursday when they dished out a three-year extension to wide receiver Jaylen Waddle that will keep him in South Beach through the 2028 season.

Waddle, 25, was the No. 6 overall selection in the 2021 NFL draft and has lived up to his top 10 pick billing through his first three seasons. The receiver has eclipsed 1,000 yards in each of those seasons, becoming the first Dolphins receiver to ever top the mark in three straight years.

Miami is turning its focus toward keeping its young core of players together for the long-term and both fans and Dolphins players alike were excited to hear the news of Waddle’s extension. Here’s a roundup of the reaction from Thursday:

LSU’s Jay Johnson on potential of facing former team Arizona in super regional

Jay Johnson could end up facing his former team in the super regional.

When the NCAA Tournament bracket was released, many circled the Chapel Hill and Tucson Regional pairing as one of the most intriguing in the sport.

Between North Carolina and LSU in Chapel Hill, and four teams with a top 100 RPI in Tucson, there’s potential for a strong Super Regional match.

One of the more intriguing options is LSU vs. Arizona, which would send LSU head coach [autotag]Jay Johnson[/autotag] back to his former stomping grounds for a series. It would mark a first for Johnson, who’s yet to face Arizona since arriving at LSU.

Johnson was asked about that potential matchup earlier this week, but for now, his mind remains on the regional in front of him.

“Congratulations to (Arizona) for winning the Pac-12 and the Pac-12 tournament. You know, obviously, I pull for their program if we’re not playing each other, which we haven’t played to this point,” Johnson said. “There’s so much ahead of that, happening for both of us. I really haven’t thought about that.”

Johnson was head coach at Arizona from 2016-21. He led the Wildcats to two CWS appearances and won the Pac-12 in 2021.

LSU begins NCAA Tournament play against Wofford at 5 p.m. CT on Friday evening.

Brad Brownell and the Clemson men’s basketball team got excellent news Wednesday as star guard Chase Hunter announced his return for one more season with the program.

Things couldn’t have gone better for the Tigers here, returning a player who may be the best player on the team next season. Brownell was hopeful Hunter would return, discussing the decision Hunter had to make earlier this month.

“He worked out for an NBA team this week,” Brownell said back on May 9. “I’m excited for him to be able to do some of those things. I was so happy to watch him play at the level that he did in the NCAA Tournament. He was tremendous.”

During the regular season, he averaged 13.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 0.5 steals per game, while adding in 0.3 blocks per game. Hunter was a standout in the Tigers’ Elite 8 run, making clutch plays and, at times, carrying Clemson’s offensive attack.

Here is a look at how X (formerly known as Twitter) reacted to the news.

Players whose special teams play could make roster decisions difficult

These five players, despite much of a role on offense or defense, could make roster decisions hard because of their special teams play.

The Arizona Cardinals are still months away from having to make decisions about the final 53-man roster. However, looking ahead, in addition to filling the roster with guys who can play offense or defense, special teams contributions become a factor.

Sometimes, a player is both a special teams ace and a contributor on offense or defense. Linebacker Dennis Gardeck is a perfect example of that. He led the team in sacks in 2023 and also played 181 special teams snaps, logging three special teams tackles. Because he played so much on defense, he played the fewest special teams snaps of his career.

But other guys will not figure on offense or defense but could make roster decisions tough because they are or can be core special teams players.

The Cardinals have several guys to watch in the offseason, training camp and preseason because they will be special teams aces who could occupy spots on the roster.

Who are the guys to know who could bump able players off the roster?

Price only played in six games last season, although had he not gotten hurt and landed on injured reserve, he would have played more. In six games, he logged 120 special teams snaps and had four special teams tackles. He also recovered a fumble on a punt.

He was a core special teams player when he was healthy.

Blount made a lot of players on special teams last season. In only 11 games with the team, he was second on the team with nine special teams tackles and forced two fumbles.

Luketa played a little on defense last season, logging 132 snaps on defense. However, he played 281 on special teams. Add the fact that he is a perfect teammate and even can play fullback on offense, and you have a guy that is hard to cut, even when he isn’t going to play much on defense.

Pascal seems like a cut candidate, especially with the receivers they have added (Zay Jones, Chris Moore, Marvin Harrison Jr.). However, he played 202 special teams snaps and was third on the team with eight special teams tackles.

Chisena is an interesting case. He was a late-season addition and played in only four games, logging 51 special teams snaps. He had two special teams tackles.

What makes his situation curious is this. After the season, as a practice squad player, he contract was going to expire three days after the season. But he was released before that and was able to sign with the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad during the postseason. He even played for the Ravens in the playoffs. But then, after the Ravens were beaten, he chose to go back to the Cardinals.

Bucs CB Jamel Dean already impressed by rookie DB Tykee Smith

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean already likes what he sees from rookie third-rounder Tykee Smith

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost one key member of their defensive backfield this offseason when they traded away starting cornerback Carlton Davis III, but they added multiple pieces to the unit that should help improve their play in 2024.

Jamel Dean now becomes the team’s unquestioned top cover man on the outside with Davis’ departure, but the return of safety Jordan Whitehead and the addition of third-round draft pick Tykee Smith should bolster the back end of Tampa Bay’s defense.

Dean recently spoke with the media about Smith’s development, the trade that sent Davis to the Detroit Lions, and much more:

Simple Tactics to Help You Win Playing Online Casino Slots

The sole purpose of playing online slots is to win money. Sure, some of you like the thrill of watching the wheels spin. However, no one wants to be a loser. Everyone who plays the slots wants to at least win enough so they can keep playing. That’s why you need to get the facts so you fully understand how you can win as much as possible.

Before you start spinning to win

Let’s get this out of the way so that there are no misconceptions about what you need to do. You need to have a clear mind if you plan on being a profitable casino player. That means you should be in a quiet place without any distractions. You don’t want to drink too much. The keywords here are too much because everyone knows a drink and slots go together like peanut butter and jelly. If you’re drinking to the point that it affects your judgment, you’re going to be making some simple mistakes that could’ve been avoided.

You also want to make sure that if you’re playing an online casino that uses software or an app, that you’re using the most up to date version. Just click around on the app and somewhere you should see a section that says info or check for updates. You want to make sure that you’re playing with the most updated version so you don’t miss out on any of the bells and whistles that may have been added.

Bet the maximum number of lines possible

Okay, you’re going to want to pay close attention to this because it’s very important. You don’t want to max out your bet; that’s something completely different. What you do want to do is make sure that you’re betting enough so that every one of the pay lines is covered. There’s a difference, and if you bet the maximum amount, your bankroll will dwindle quickly.

Every slot machine is different, and you’ll need to see how many lines the machine you’re playing has. Some will just have three, nine, or a bizarre number of lines, like 27. Pay close attention to the number of lines so that you know how much you should bet.

Bet the minimum on every spin

It might sound tricky, but it really isn’t very complicated. You want to wager as little as possible on every spin while still making sure that every line is covered. You’re trying to get as many spins as possible for your money. If you have a bankroll that’s stacked higher than your house, of course, you can bet more. The average person will need to watch their money closely, so it makes sense to bet the minimum.

So, to recap, you want to bet on every line but bet the smallest amount possible. The goal here is to get as many spins for your money as you can. You aren’t going to see the results of your betting strategy right away, and it will take time. However, as you begin to see your bankroll last longer, you’ll begin to understand why this tactic works so well. You might even notice that you’re winning more in the long run because you’re hitting more bonus rounds. Don’t forget if you don’t spin the wins, it’s not possible to hit the bonus rounds.

Sign up for the casino’s newsletter

Most players overlook signing up for newsletters because they don’t want to get flooded with spam. It’s understandable that you don’t want your inbox to get hammered with messages, but it’s really important that you sign up for their newsletter. Usually, casinos offer special promo deals only to those who are subscribed to their newsletter.

The casino might offer a refer-a-friend bonus, a deposit bonus, or even a few spins with no strings attached. You can always set up your email account so that the newsletter goes into a specific folder if you want it to. The main thing is that you check every so often to see if the casino is offering bonuses that can help you spread out your money.

Winning is possible, but it takes dedication

You’ll need to be dedicated if you want to win playing online slots. The casino will reward players who are diligent and make sure that they play the game right. That’s true, no matter if you’re playing at an online casino or a brick-and-mortar casino. If you follow these simple tactics, your money will last longer, and you’ll stand a better chance of coming out ahead in the long run.

Bucs G Cody Mauch primed for big jump in 2nd NFL season

After starting every game as a rookie, Tampa Bay Buccaneers guard Cody Mauch should be much improved in 2024

Under general manager Jason Licht, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have proven they know how to draft and develop quality offensive line prospects, particularly when they draft them on Day 2 from smaller programs.

It worked with Ali Marpet (2nd round, Hobart College) and Alex Cappa (3rd round, Humboldt State), and they’re looking for another success story in Cody Mauch, their second-round pick in 2023 out of North Dakota State.

Mauch earned the starting job at right guard from Day 1 as a rookie last season, and made huge strides throughout the year. Now heading into his second NFL season, Mauch is poised to make a big jump in his play.

He recently spoke with the media about his development, learning a new offensive system under coordinator Liam Coen, and much more:
