Twitter reacts: Georgia OC Todd Monken to interview with Tampa Bay Buccaneers

DawgNation’s reacting to Monken’s interview with the Bucs…

Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken will interview for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vacant offensive coordinator position next week, according to ESPN’s Jenna Laine.

Monken has been a popular name among NFL offensive coordinator searches after leading a 2022 Bulldogs offense that finished fifth nationally in both total offense (501 yards per game) and points per game (41).
Monken is currently the highest paid assistant coach in college football at $2.1 million per year, according USA TODAY data.
Monken held the same role for the Buccaneers from 2016-2018. He spoke on his status in Athens the week leading up to the Peach Bowl.
“At some point in my career I thought I knew exactly what I wanted next year, in five years, in 10 years, really what I wanted. I don’t know if it’s just getting old or the appreciation for the job you have, but I don’t control opportunities that come my way,” Monken said. “I would never say never to anything. I would never say no to anything, but I love where I’m at because I believe we’re going to win and I believe in the head coach. So those are all huge factors in where you decide to stay as a coach.”

Best Twitter reactions to Kirby Smart’s ‘we will not be hunted’ quote

Georgia Twitter had fun with Kirby’s ‘we will not be hunted’ comment

Kirby Smart made the coolest comment of the week on Wednesday when he told reporters Georgia will not be hunted this season.

“People ask the question, ‘how does it feel to be hunted?’

We will not be hunted at the University of Georgia. I can promise you that. The hunting we do will be from us going the other direction.

We’re not going to sit back and be passive about,” Smart said.

That one comment, which he made early on in his opening remarks, got Georgia fans absolutely buzzing on Twitter.

20 Twitter accounts all Georgia football fans should be following

These are the 20 Twitter accounts all Georgia football fans should be following.

I created the UGA Football Live Twitter account back in December of 2012. Since its creation, @UGAFootballLive has grown into the most-followed Twitter page covering the Bulldogs’ football program, with the exception of the school’s official accounts.

Through running this account, I’ve seen it all. Mean tweets after a loss, joyous ones after a win, and everything in between.

But I’ve also developed a list of my favorite Twitter follows over the years that I wanted to share with you – the fans. I included two Instagram accounts that I’d classify as “must-follows” as well.

Here are the 20 best social media accounts covering Georgia football that all UGA fans should be following.

Twitter reacts: Former UGA LB Lorenzo Carter coming home

Lorenzo Carter is coming home…Twitter reacts

Former Georgia outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter announced on Sunday that he is moving on from the New York Giants after four years with the team.

One day later, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported that Carter is expected to sign a one year deal with the Atlanta Falcons.

A former five-star out of Norcross, Georgia, Carter was an athletic and scrappy pass rusher during his four years at UGA. During his time in Athens, Carter recorded 14 sacks and was a leader on the defense.

Carter, 26, was a 2018 third-round draft pick. He will receive a fresh start in his home-state.
