‘It’s not a joke!’ – Getafe president says Gareth Bale has been offered to them

“It’s not a joke,” said the Madrid club’s president Angel Torres

Getafe president Angel Torres has said that his club has been offered the chance to sign free agent attacker Gareth Bale.

Bale has seen his Real Madrid contract expire after nine seasons with the club, and is currently looking for a new home.

He may not have to look far as Getafe, located in a suburb of Madrid, has said it has been given the chance to sign the 32-year-old.

“Someone may take it as a joke, but 45 or 50 minutes ago I spoke with his agents, and they offered him to us. It is not a joke,” Torres told reporters.

“I have to think about it and talk to the coach. I don’t know if he will come. Of course it’s a possibility, all great footballers are.

“They have offered it to me and I have kindly listened. From there I will consult with the coach. Anything is possible.”

Bale would be battling for much different objectives at Getafe than he is used to at Real. Last season Getafe finished 15th in La Liga, just one point ahead of the relegation zone.

Bale’s future

Bale was reported to be considering retirement after leaving Madrid but with Wales reaching the World Cup, he will now be on the lookout for a new club as he prepares for the tournament that starts in November.

Bale was asked if his retirement would be postponed after Wales defeated Ukraine to reach its first World Cup in 64 years.

He replied with a laugh: “For a little bit.”

The BBC has reported that Welsh outfit Cardiff City is looking to bring Bale home, which could be challenging given that it plays in the second-tier Championship.

New England Revolution sell Adam Buksa to Lens for reported $10m

Between three major sales, the Revs have now generated around $24 million in less than a year

The New England Revolution have agreed to transfer striker Adam Buksa to Ligue 1 side RC Lens, the MLS club announced on Tuesday.

New England did not disclose the transfer fee, but the Boston Globe reported that the figure was $10 million.

That represents a healthy profit on the reported $4.5 million the Revs paid in late 2019 to acquire Buksa from Polish side Pogoń Szczecin.

Since Buksa’s arrival he has become one of the top strikers in MLS, scoring 29 goals and adding eight assists in 64 total league appearances.

The 25-year-old also became a Poland international during his time with the Revs, and has now scored five goals in eight appearances as he chases a roster spot for the 2022 World Cup.

Another major sale for the Revs

The Revolution won the MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2021, setting a new league record by amassing 73 points.

Since then, the Revs have made three major sales of players who were key to the team’s success last season.

Canadian star Tajon Buchanan joined Belgian power Club Brugge after last season, while goalkeeper Matt Turner will soon depart for Arsenal.

Buchanan and Turner each cost a reported $7 million, meaning the Revs have now secured around $24 million in transfer fees in less than a year.

It sounds like Gabriel Slonina only wants to play for Real Madrid

Gabriel Slonina’s agent has said that his client has his heart set on a transfer to Real Madrid

Gabriel Slonina has been linked to a host of the biggest clubs in the world in recent months, but it sounds like he’s got his heart set on just one: Real Madrid.

The Chicago Fire teenager is considered one of the world’s top young goalkeepers, and a move to Europe appears to be imminent.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich have been credited with an interest, while MLSsoccer.com reported this week that Real Madrid has already seen a bid for Slonina rejected.

Speaking to MLSsoccer.com, Slonina’s agent Jaime Garcia revealed that his client has a clear preference for where he’d like to play.

“It should be an honor for Chicago, and MLS, to have Real Madrid take notice in one of their players,” Garcia said. “We are hoping Chicago can find an agreement with Real Madrid to realize Gabriel’s dream of playing for this club.”

Antonio RĂĽdiger completes Real Madrid transfer after leaving Chelsea

The rich have gotten richer as one of the world’s top defenders heads to the Spanish capital

Antonio RĂĽdiger has completed his move to Real Madrid on a free transfer from Chelsea.

Fresh off a season in which they completed a Champions League-La Liga double, the Spanish giants have further strengthened their squad by signing one of the top defenders in the world.

Rüdiger, 29, has signed a four-year contract at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The Germany international spent five years with Chelsea, during which he won a host of honors including the Champions League, Europa League, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FA Cup.

The most recent season was one of RĂĽdiger’s finest, as he set career highs in appearances and goals with 54 and five, respectively.

In Madrid, RĂĽdiger will be reunited with ex-Chelsea teammates Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, as well as his Germany teammate Toni Kroos.

How will Chelsea replace RĂĽdiger?

RĂĽdiger’s departure will leave a major hole in Chelsea’s defense, especially with Andreas Christensen close to joining Barcelona on a free transfer and Cesar Azpilicueta potentially to follow, per reports.

Chelsea has reportedly identified Sevilla defender Jules Kounde as a top target to help fill the center-back void, and the Blues have also been linked with RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol and Brighton’s Marc Cucurella.

Robert Lewandowski: My era at Bayern Munich is over

The superstar striker has been linked with a move to Barcelona

Robert Lewandowski has confirmed his intention to leave Bayern Munich, saying in no uncertain terms that he believes his time at the club is over.

Speaking at a press conference with the Poland national team on Monday, the 33-year-old made it clear he does not intend to play another game for the Bundesliga champions.

“My era at Bayern is over. I don’t see any possibility to continue playing for this club anymore,” the striker said.

“Bayern is a serious club and I believe they won’t keep me just because they can. I don’t want to play there anymore. A transfer is the best solution. I hope they don’t stop me.”

Lewandowski will see his contract expire at the end of next season, meaning Bayern would have to agree to sell him if he wishes to leave this summer.

Where could Lewandowski go?

The superstar forward has been linked with a move to several clubs across Europe, but Barcelona has recently emerged as the most likely destination after manager Xavi confirmed that negotiations over a transfer were underway.

“It is a possibility that he could come, yes,” Xavi said at a press conference earlier this month.

“He has said it publicly as well. There are negotiations, but it won’t be easy, he has a one-year contract with Bayern.”

The striker was asked about a move to Barcelona on Sunday by Eleven Sports, responding: “It depends on several factors. I think my situation is clear and there’s no point in talking about it. It’s hard to say if I will still play for Bayern next season.”

Lewandowski has just finished another stellar goal-scoring season, tallying 50 goals from 46 games in all competitions.

USMNT star Brenden Aaronson to join Leeds United

The USMNT’s Premier League contingent just got bigger.

Brenden Aaronson has expanded the American contingent at Leeds United, as the USMNT attacker will officially join Jesse Marsch’s side when the summer transfer window opens.

Aaronson’s transfer, a $30 million move from Red Bull Salzburg, has long been rumored, but appeared to be contingent on Leeds surviving in the Premier League. With that issue settled in dramatic fashion, Aaronson and both clubs could proceed with the transfer.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be here at this historic club, I am really excited for the new season,” Aaronson said. “I think it was around Christmas or January that I could see there was some interest and hearing about Leeds United being interested, it was a huge moment for me and I was super excited.”

Aaronson has played for Marsch previously, as the two overlapped at Salzburg for half a season after the young attacker made the jump to Europe from the Philadelphia Union. “The way Jesse wants to play, I learned a lot about the system and flourished under that system, so I am really excited to get back into it again,” said Aaronson.

Leeds director of football Victor Orta called Aaronson “the perfect player fit for us,” adding that the club feels “he will improve the squad and we are really happy, it is very difficult to find a young player of this level, especially with Champions League experience.”

Speaking to the club’s site, Marsch praised Aaronson’s work rate, and said that he feels the 21-year-old New Jersey native “adapts very well to tactical ideas and levels of play and his mentality is to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed.”

It’s a big summer for a move for Aaronson, who is very much in the reckoning for a place in the USMNT World Cup squad later this year. Per FBref, Aaronson played more minutes (654) than any other forward for Gregg Berhalter, scoring twice and adding an assist in 11 total appearances.

The Decision: Mbappe’s mother says he has agreements with both PSG and Real Madrid

The superstar forward is done negotiating, and now the world awaits his decision

Kylian Mbappe’s mother Fayza Lamari has revealed that her son has agreements in place with both PSG and Real Madrid, and now the decision is up to him.

Mbappe’s PSG contract will expire next month and the French champion is doing everything possible to keep its superstar around past the end of the current season.

But Real Madrid has been strongly linked with the 23-year-old for some time and has been expected to sign one of world soccer’s biggest talents to a massive contract.

French publication L’Equipe announced on Thursday that Mbappe is expected to reveal his decision on Sunday in a moment that could be reminiscent of LeBron James’ infamous “The Decision” – in which he declared on national TV that he would “take my talents to South Beach” and join the Miami Heat in 2010.

Now Lamari has revealed that Mbappe currently has agreements in place with both of his suitors, and that all meetings and negotiations between the three sides have concluded.

“We have an agreement with both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Kylian will now decide,” Lamari told Kora Plus.

“The two offers from PSG and Real Madrid are almost identical. It’s up to Kylian now, he will make a decision.

“There are no new meetings in order to negotiate Kylian’s future, those are over.”

Where will Mbappe land?

Mbappe nearly joined Real Madrid prior to the current season but PSG refused to let go of its prized asset – despite the threat of losing him on a free transfer the following summer.

The striker has marked himself as one of the top players in the world since joining PSG from Monaco in 2017, scoring 168 goals for the club in 216 appearances.

There have recently been mixed reports on which way Mbappe was leaning. ESPN reported on Friday that there is growing “pessimism” at Madrid after earlier in the week saying that PSG had given up on keeping the France star.

It appears that Mbappe won’t keep us waiting much longer.

Manchester City reach agreement with Dortmund over Erling Haaland transfer

The superstar striker is heading to the Premier League after dominating in Germany

Manchester City has announced the club has reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund over the transfer of superstar striker Erling Haaland.

“Manchester City can confirm we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022,” read a statement on the club’s website.

“The transfer remains subject to the Club finalising terms with the player.”

According to multiple reports, City will pay a relatively bargain price of €60 million ($63m) to activate the striker’s release clause at Dortmund.

At 21, Haaland has already established himself as one of the world’s best strikers. The Norway international scored a remarkable 85 goals in 88 appearances for Dortmund after joining the Bundesliga side from Red Bull Salzburg midway through the 2019-20 season.
