Texas A&M commit and 4-star QB Brady Hart plans to reclassify to the 2025 class

Texas A&M has found its QB after Husan Longstreet’s flip to USC

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class could see several flips over the next five days, as Early Signing Day is set for Dec. 4, but as of Friday, the Aggies have gained their replacement for 5-star QB Husan Longstreet, who flipped to USC earlier this month.

On Friday morning, Texas A&M gained a commitment from 2026 4-star Brady Hart, who flipped from Michigan after 2025 5-star QB Bryce Underwood to the Wolverines from LSU just a week ago. After losing Longstreet to his hometown Trojans, gaining any QB flip seemed highly unlikely.

Even better news: Hart will reclassify to the 2025 class and plans to sign with the Aggies next week. He will bring his big arm and high intellect to a quarterback room that could see some attrition this offseason.

No matter how the Aggies season ends, one name to watch in the coming months is redshirt sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman, who could enter the transfer portal this offseason after being benched for current and future starter Marcel Reed.

If that happens, Texas A&M’s 2025 QB room would consist of Marcel Reed, Miles O’Neill, Brady Hart, and a transfer portal addition if needed.

In an interview with ESPN, Hart noted his excitement to start his collegiate career under head coach Mike Elko and OC Collin Klein, both entering their second season in 2025:

“I’ve had a fair share of schools ask me to reclass these past couple of months,” Smith stated. “I felt like I’m mentally ready to go to school and start the next step of all this. I just felt A&M was just the perfect place.”

No. 19 Texas A&M will host No. 3 Texas on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 pm. CT. The game will air on ABC.

The experts weigh in on the Texas A&M vs Texas matchup in Week 14

The experts weigh in on Texas A&M vs. Texas

No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies (8-3, 5-2 SEC) will face all-time rival No. 3 Texas (10-1), 6-1 SEC) on Nov. 30 when the Aggies host the Longhorns at Kyle Field to close out the season with an SEC Championship berth on the line.

In some years, rivalry games have been built differently from standard games. Anything can happen, and outside of years where there is an obvious advantage, they tend to be some of the better games of the year. This game is the weekend’s biggest matchup, and ticket prices are as high as those of professional teams in the playoffs. It should also take place in front of a record-setting crowd, with a lifetime of bragging rights on the line for fans.

A&M can’t start slow and get off schedule against the best team they have played this season. In their game against Auburn, they did not take advantage of opportunities and made minor mental mistakes, allowing Auburn to score late, forcing OT. If they have the same type of game, Texas will blow them out by the third quarter. The defense will hold up on their part, but only if the offense maintains long drives, giving the defense time to rest.

Here is who the experts are picking to come out victorious in this week’s matchup:

Could Texas QB Arch Manning see time against Texas A&M?

Could Texas QB Arch Manning see the field or even start against Texas A&M on Saturday night?

With over 24 hours remaining before No. 20 Texas A&M (8-3, 5-2 SEC) hosts No. 3 Texas (10-1, 6-1 SEC) on Saturday night, rumors regarding Longhorns starting quarterback Quinn Ewers have surfaced regarding the junior’s ankle issues.

According to the last two availability reports, Ewers is listed as “probable,” which gives him a 75% chance to play. However, given his lack of mobility outside the pocket and Texas A&M’s deep defensive line, backup quarterback Arch Manning could vault into the starting lineup or, at the least, replace Ewers mid-game.

While nothing is set in stone until the final injury report is released on Saturday afternoon, Manning’s dual-threat ability could end up hurting the Aggies. The Aggies have struggled against running quarterbacks this season, including the last two SEC losses against South Carolina and Auburn.

In six games this season, Manning has thrown for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions, including two starts against ULM and Mississippi State.

While he is still developing as a passer, Manning is ready to start at nearly every blue-blood program, giving Texas coach Steve Sarkisian a go-to option if needed on Saturday night.

No. 19 Texas A&M will host No. 3 Texas on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 pm. CT. The game will air on ABC.

2026 4-star QB out of Cocoa (FL) has flipped from Michigan to Texas A&M

Brady Hart will reclassify to the 2025 class and sign with the Aggies next week

Texas A&M and head coach Mike Elko have landed its quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class after losing 5-star QB Husan Longstreet to USC earlier this month, as former Michigan commit and 4-star quarterback Brady Hart will sign with the Aggies early next week.

While this is certainly related to 2025 5-star QB Bryce Underwood’s shocking flip from LSU to Michigan, Hart has been on the Aggies’ radar for quite some time, while Longstreet’s departure has now been solved looking ahead to the 2025 season.

Standing at 6-4 and 180 pounds, Hart can sling it. He possesses pinpoint accuracy and touch, and his arm strength will continue to develop at the next level. Hart, the son of a former MLB pitcher, is a pure gamer with plenty of confidence and swagger to diagnose any defense, as the junior threw for 3,759 yards and 41 touchdowns during his 2023 sophomore season.

According to 247Sports Composite, Hart is currently positioned as the 98th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 6th-ranked quarterback, and the 17th-ranked prospect in Florida.

Texas A&M will play Rutgers on Saturday in the Players Era Tournament

Texas A&M will play Rutgers for a chance at another resume-building win on Saturday afternoon

Texas A&M (5-2) earned one of its biggest wins of the year on Wednesday against No. 21 Creighton in the Players Era Tournament, just a day after falling to the Oregon Ducks. Earning a likely second Quad 1 win, head coach Buzz Williams has set the Aggies up well heading into December.

Led by star point guard Wade Taylor IV (18 points), it was the play of Texas A&M’s forward rotation led by Henry Coleman (17 points), Andersson Garcia, and Solomon Washington, who both scored 10 points, including Washington’s late bucket to take the Aggies final lead.

Defensively, the Aggies limited Creighton center Ryan Kalkbrenner for most of the night, while the Blue Jays relied on most of their offense from beyond the arc. Sitting at 5-2, the Aggies will play their final game of the Players Era Tournament against Rutgers on Saturday afternoon.

Rutgers is also 5-2 after losing to No. 9 Alabama 95-90, but the Scarlight Knights have also lost to Kennesaw State after entering the season ranked No. 24.

Texas A&M will play Rutgers in the 5th place game of the Players Era Tournament at 2:30 p.m. CT. on Saturday. The game will air on truTV.

Texas A&M’s uniform vs. Texas has been revealed

Here is the uniform the Aggies will go with against the Texas Longhorns on Saturday night

No. 20 Texas A&M (8-3, 5-2 SEC) will face the No. 3 Texas Longhorns for the first time in 13 seasons, as the Lone Star Showdown is officially back from the remaining future after Texas officially joined the SEC this summer.

However, this is the first time in matchup history that the stakes are this high, as the winner of Saturday’s game will earn a trip to Atlanta to face the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game.

This week, head coach Mike Elko has continually stated that his team understands the gravity of the postseason implications. The Aggies need two more wins to solidify a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Knowing the challenges the Longhorns present on both sides of the ball, it’ll be up to the starting quarterback, Marcel Reed, and Texas A&M’s pass rush, especially defensive ends Nic Scourton and Shemar Stewart, to take over the game and make early impacts.

On Thursday, just hours into Thanksgiving, Texas A&M’s media team revealed that the Aggies will wear a maroon helmet, jersey, and white pants, while Texas is expected to wear the all-white look, the program’s regular road attire.

No. 19 Texas A&M will host No. 3 Texas on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 pm. CT. The game will air on ABC.

Here are the recruits set to visit during Texas A&M’s Week 14 matchup vs. Texas

Here is the current recruiting visitors list ahead of Texas A&M’s Week 14 matchup vs. Texas

No. 20 Texas A&M (8-3, 5-2 SEC) will host the No. 3 Texas Longhorns in the biggest game of the year thus far. The winner will face Georgia in the SEC Championship game on Saturday, Dec. 7.

How we got here is comical, and it is one of the reasons the 12-team playoff structure was always the right decision. A 3-loss Aggie team still has a chance to make the playoffs, while the Longhorns are likely in regardless of what happens on Saturday night.

However, nothing is guaranteed, and after a 13-year drought, one of the greatest rivalries in sports is back and better than ever, as Kyle Field is slated to be nearly sold out and the loudest it’s been all year.

This is also a big weekend for Texas A&M and coach Mike Elko recruiting-wise, as the Aggies will host a very long list of 2025, 2026, and 2027 prospects, including several commits.

Texas A&M-Texas College GameDay guest pickers has been announced

College GameDay’s guest pickers for Texas A&M vs. Texas has been announced

We’ve reached the final weekend of the 2024 regular season, and rivalry week is filled with exciting matchups. Still, the Lone Star Showdown revival between Texas A&M and the Texas Longhorns has major postseason implications.

After Alabama’s loss to Oklahoma in Week 13, the Aggies’ quadruple overtime loss to Auburn didn’t mean as much as we initially thought, as Saturday’s matchup between the Aggies and Longhorns will determine Georgia’s opponent in the SEC Championship game on Dec. 7.

Leading up to the critical matchup, both teams understand the gravity of the rivalry’s continuation. While the stakes are the highest they’ve been in years, team pride will always be on the line, no matter each team’s record.

Last weekend, it was announced that College GameDay would head to College Station on Saturday, but the question remained: Who will be the guest picker?

On Wednesday, ESPN announced that the five-man comedy and sports group Dude Perfect would be the guest pickers for the matchup, as every member attended Texas A&M and formed the team in 2009.

While some older Aggies may not be familiar with the group, Dude Perfect has amassed 60 million YouTube subscribers.

No. 19 Texas A&M will host No. 3 Texas on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 pm. CT. The game will air on ABC.

Former Texas A&M QB Stephen McGee explains the importance of Texas A&M vs. Texas

Ahead of the first meeting between Texas A&M and the Texas Longhorns, former Aggies’ QB Stephen McGee described the importance of the game returning

Texas A&M (8-3, 5-2 SEC) and the Texas Longhorns (10-1, 6-1 SEC) will meet for the first time since the 2011 season in the renewal of the Lone Star Showdown, but this season, pride isn’t the only thing on the line.

After Alabama’s loss to Oklahoma in Week 13, the winner of the rivalry matchup will result in a spot in the SEC Championship game on Dec. 7 against Georgia, while the loser will have to wait out a potential spot in the College Football Playoff over the next week.

Looking back at the rivalry’s history, too many players stick out to mention, but thanks to CBS Sports’ Shehan Jeyarajah’s recent article about the return of the big game, his interview with former Texas A&M starting quarterback Stephen McGee stood out the most.

Leading the Aggies to two of the last three wins over the Longhorns since the  2006 season, McGee was a vital piece in the running game as well as the passing game, scoring the game-winning rushing touchdown in the 12-7 win over Texas in Austin in his second season.

Nationally, the importance of the game still doesn’t resonate with some since the 13-year absence. This is a bitter rivalry between two programs with completely different backgrounds, as McGee noted that this is a clash between cultures and former high school teammates in the most talent-rich football state in the country.

“You’re talking about the most football-rich state in the world,” McGee stated. “Nowhere is football more important than it is in the state of Texas. All you’ve got to do is go to a high school football game on a Friday night to see how important football is to people in every community. Then when you think about Texas A&M and Texas, you’re taking the best of the best of all those communities which have put their heart and soul in their kids.”

Texas currently leads the series 76-37-5. This will be the 119th meeting, hopefully just the start of what’s to come in the expanded SEC.

No. 19 Texas A&M will host No. 3 Texas on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 pm. CT. The game will air on ABC.

Here are the best photos from Texas A&M’s 77-73 comeback win over Creighton

View some of the best photos from Texas A&M’s 77-73 comeback win over Creighton

The one thing that can’t be denied is that a Buzz Williams basketball team will play with grit and determination. Unlike Tuesday’s opening matchup against Oregon, No. 20 Texas A&M overcame another poor shooting performance to beat the No. 21 Creighton Bluejays at the Players Era Festival Tournament.

It was a welcome sight to see senior forward Henry Coleman III drop 17 points in his first starting role this season. Coleman and Wade Taylor IV combined for 35 points, and the team pulled in 21 offensive rebounds, leading to 23 second-chance points. In the postgame press conference, Taylor talked about the team’s resilience in tough situations.

Coach always talked to us all year about being grimy because we’re at our best when we’re grimy. It’s a tug-of-war match. So for us to come out there and compete as hard as we did because Creighton is an amazing team, shout-out to them, just shows how much we believe in each other and how much we want to make sure when it get tight that we continue to make sure we pull it out.

Below are some of the best photos from the game.
