Fantasy Football DFS Domination: Week 10

Breaking down the top players and sleepers for DraftKings and FanDuel for Week 9 DFS fantasy football.

Week 10 brings the return of the byes, our final foreign game of the season (featuring two of the worst teams in the NFL), and six excellent offenses playing outside the main slate.

We can use Detroit and Houston on FD and FB. Otherwise, the player pool is pruning up with the rainy fall weather. This brings me to the most important element from now on: the weather. We had our first pair of weather-influenced games this past weekend, but neither stifled the elite offenses involved. Know that only the absolute worst wind and driving rain/snow truly affect the top talents, but still be alert and aware.

Recommended DFS lineups

*Note: FanDuel and Fanball include the Sunday night game on their Main Slate. DraftKings doesn’t include them, so the pricing is listed as N/A.

Mac Jones $4,400 $6,000

Quarterback

Weekly strategy – If you go big, choose between Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen. Both are solid plays. The high-dollar pivots would be C.J. Stroud or Kirk Cousins. The sweet spot for me would be Brock PurdySam Darnold, and Aaron RodgersJustin Herbert, Mac Jones, and Cooper Rush are the punt choices.

Fantasy four-pack

Jalen Hurts, Eagles @ DAL ($7,800 DK, $9,400 FDOver the last four games, Dallas has allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing QBs. Meanwhile, Hurts has 12 total TDs over that same four-week period.

Josh Allen, Bills @ IND ($7,700 DK, $9,200 FDIf I knew he would have all of his weapons, I’d have even more faith in Allen. Still, Allen has proven he can succeed without his usual posse, especially if he gets things going with his legs. Indy’s pass defense numbers look positive, but the QBs they have faced were Sam DarnoldC.J. Stroud (2x), and a clown car full of scrubs.

Kirk Cousins, Falcons @ NO ($6,700 DK, $7,400 FD) Since Week 5, Cousins ranks second in both completions and passing yards. He also ranks third in passing TDs. New Orleans held him in check earlier this year, but now they will be without Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore. Stack Cousins with two of Drake London (hip), Kyle PittsDarnell Mooney, and Ray-Ray McCloud III.

C.J. Stroud, Texans vs. DET (N/A DK, $7,700 FDOnly three teams allow more passing yards per game than Detroit. This will be the wake-up call needed to boost Stroud, who has struggled since losing his top two WRs to injury. Stroud will get an even bigger boost if Nico Collins (hamstring) returns here.

Sleepers

Aaron Rodgers, Jets @ ARI ($5,700 DK, $7,100 FDIn six of his last eight starts, Rodgers has thrown for multiple TDs. This includes five passing TDs over the last two games. Arizona’s pass defense has improved recently, but they still have allowed the sixth-most passing yards this year.

Justin Herbert, Chargers vs. TEN ($5,200 DK, $6,900 FD) This price seems disrespectful to Herbert. Over the last three weeks, no one has thrown for more passing yards than him. The return of Quentin Johnston, paired with the development of Ladd McConkey, has lit a new fire under him. The timing is right for a big game here as Tennessee has allowed eight of their 11 passing TDs over the last four weeks.

Ty Chandler $4,200 $5,700
Kenneth Gainwell $4,100 $4,900
Kyle Juszczyk $4,000 $4,300

Running back

Weekly strategy – Saquon Barkley and Bijan Robinson are the best choices. Alvin Kamara should see a heightened volume because of injuries. I’m struggling with whether to use Christian McCaffrey. It is his first game back, and the matchup is prime, but this smells like a snap-count game. Just know that his DK price will never be this low again. Outside of this foursome, Aaron Jones and D’Andre Swift feel like the clear RB2 choices. After this group, it gets ugly. You can take a flier on James Conner or Rico Dowdle or punt with backups like Tyler Allgeier or  Kenneth Gainwell … Ugh.

Fantasy four-pack

Saquon Barkley, Eagles @ DAL ($8,300 DK, $9,600 FDNormally, I would be concerned that Barkley and Jalen Hurts would cannibalize each other’s production. Still, both have dominated over the last three weeks. Meanwhile, Dallas allows an average of 150 combo yards and 1.4 total TDs per game to opposing RBs.

Bijan Robinson, Falcons @ NO ($7,700 DK, $8,800 FDOver their last four contests, New Orleans is allowing 155 combo yards and two total TDs per game to opposing RBs. This coincides with the blossoming of Robinson. During that same stretch, he is averaging 23.5 PPR points per game.

Alvin Kamara, Saints vs. ATL ($8,100 DK, $8,500 FDKamara’s passing game usage has kept him relevant while the rest of the Saints are in the infirmary. Atlanta ranks in the bottom five in RB receptions and receiving TDs, so the opportunities will be there this week.

Aaron Jones, Vikings @ JAX ($6,700 DK, $7,900 FDJacksonville ranks second-worst in total TDs allowed to the RB position. They also are in the bottom three in both RB receptions and receiving yards. Jones should do damage through the air here as he ranks eighth among RBs in both categories.

Sleepers

Rico Dowdle, Cowboys vs. PHI ($6,100 DK, $6,200 FD) The matchup isn’t elite, but Dowdle has fared well since winning the lion’s share of the touches back in Week 4. During this stretch, Dowdle has nearly twice as many opportunities as Ezekiel Elliott, despite missing one of these games because of illness.

Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots @ CHI ($6,400 DK, $7,000 FD) Stevenson’s yardage numbers have been pedestrian all season, but he ranks sixth among RBs with seven total TDs. This includes two TDs in each of the last two games. Plus, Chicago is allowing five YPC to opposing RBs, so the yards may be here this week as well.

Kendrick Bourne $3,200 $5,000
KhaDarel Hodge $3,200 $4,800
Lil’Jordan Humphrey $3,200 $4,600

Wide receiver

Weekly strategy – Justin Jefferson should be high-dollar chalk. To save money and achieve variance, use DeVonta Smith or Davante Adams instead. You also can use Tank Dell on FD and FB, especially if Nico Collins (hamstring) remains out. At WR2 use Darnell Mooney or Khalil Shakir, or take a flier on George Pickens, Josh Downs, or DJ Moore. Jauan Jennings (hip) will be my WR3 unless he suffers a setback. In that case, sub in Rome OdunzeJordan AddisonQuentin Johnston, or Calvin Ridley. If you don’t use Mooney, consider Ray-Ray McCloud as a punt. You also can consider Nick Westbrook-Ikhine or Parker Washington in this role.

Fantasy four-pack

Justin Jefferson, Vikings vs. JAX ($8,800 DK, $9,500 FD) Jefferson is expensive, but he has scored and/or topped 100 total yards in all but one game. We will see more of this as Jacksonville ranks bottom-six in WR receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs.

DeVonta Smith, Eagles @ DAL ($7,800, $8,500 FD) Dallas’ injuries have piled up, leaving this defense debilitated. Plus, A.J. Brown (knee) is on the wrong side of questionable. This should allow the Eagles to feature Smith once again. Even if Brown plays, Smith will score.

Davante Adams, Jets @ ARI ($7,000 DK, $7,600 FD) The Lambeau East Connection travels down to Arizona to face a Cardinals defense that has allowed the seventh-most WR receptions and the eighth-most WR receptions. Adams’ usage has grown in each game since the trade to the Jets. This feels like the game where he scores multiple TDs.

Tank Dell, Texans vs. DET (N/A DK, $7,200 FD) Despite facing the top-ranked pass defense against WRs last week, C.J. Stroud finally peppered Dell with targets. The result was 6-126. Expect even more out of the Houston speedster against the third-worst defense against the opponent’s WRs.

Sleepers

Jauan Jennings, 49ers @ TB ($5,100 DK, $5,800 FDJennings (hip) is on target to return this weekend against the Buccaneers. Deebo Samuel (oblique/ribs) will probably return as well. Hope they both return, because opposing WR2s have demolished this defense.

Quentin Johnston, Chargers vs. TEN ($4,900 DK, $5,900 FD) Tennessee has stumbled of late against the pass. Meanwhile, Johnston is coming off his best game of the season. Stack him and/or Ladd McConkey with Justin Herbert if you want to spend huge at RB.

Tight End DraftKings FanDuel
Travis Kelce $6,000 $7,000
George Kittle $5,800 $8,000

Noah Gray $2,900 $5,200
Brenton Strange $2,800 $4,800
Austin Hooper $2,700 $4,800
Hayden Hurst $2,700 $4,500
Lucas Krull $2,600 $4,600

Tight end

Weekly strategy – Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and Cade Otton are all elite plays this week. Seriously consider the double-TE play with two of them. Kyle Pitts (hamstring) and Dalton Kincaid are the discount pivots. You also can punt with Hunter Henry or one of the Saints.

Fantasy four-pack

George Kittle, 49ers @ TB ($5,800 DK, $8,000 FD) Over the last four weeks, Tampa is allowing an average of 23.7 PPR points to opposing TEs. Kittle leads all tight ends in touchdowns and ranks second in TE receiving yards. This has allowed him to score and/or top 90 total yards in six of seven games.

Travis Kelce, Chiefs vs. DEN ($6,000 DK, $7,000 FDTE is one of the few positions that Denver struggles against on defense. With Kelce blowing up for the last two weeks, 8-90-1 should be the floor.

Cade Otton, Buccaneers vs. SF ($5,500 DK, $6,400 FDSince losing their entire WR corps to injury, Otton has gone scorched earth on the league. Over the last three games, Otton is top-three among all offensive players in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs. His price is still low enough to lock it in here.

Trey McBride, Cardinals vs. NYJ ($5,700 DK, $7,200 FD) McBride should see a plethora of targets with the Jets shutting down the Cardinals’ outside WRs. Even though he scored the rushing TD, McBride underperformed last week. This could keep his ownership numbers down.

Sleepers

Hunter Henry, Patriots @ CHI ($3,900 DK, $5,300 FD) Henry hasn’t scored over the last three games, but he is averaging 7-64. At this price on DK, 3x is an absolute lock. If he gets into the end zone, 4x is on the table.

Juwan Johnson, Saints vs. ATL ($3,300 DK, $5,300 FD) With an injury-depleted WR corps, the Saints have turned to their TEs to make up the slack. Johnson, Taysom Hill, and Foster Moreau are all in play at discount prices. Build three different lineups, each featuring one of them.

Primetime DFS Domination: Week 9

Lineup recommendations for DraftKings and FanDuel for Week 9 DFS fantasy football primetime slate.

The massive popularity of small DFS slates has propelled us to expand our DFS coverage. I will give you my favorite lineup for the Primetime Slate each week. We will release these as soon as both sites release their pricing.

Recommended Primetime DFS lineups

DK Lineup: QB Joe Flacco ($6.0k), RB Jonathan Taylor ($7.3k), RB Aaron Jones ($6.8k), WR Josh Downs ($6.0k), WR Jordan Addison ($5.2k), WR DeAndre Hopkins ($5.0k), TE Cade Otton ($4.5k), FLEX Travis Kelce ($6.3k), DST Indianapolis Colts ($2.6k)

FD Lineup: QB Joe Flacco ($7.0k), RB Jonathan Taylor ($8.2k), RB Aaron Jones ($7.5k), WR Justin Jefferson ($9.2k), WR Michael Pittman Jr. ($5.8k), WR DeAndre Hopkins ($5.6k), TE Cade Otton ($6.1k), FLEX Travis Kelce ($7.2k), DST Indianapolis Colts ($3.3k)

All four QBs are in play. If I were to fade one of them, it would be Baker Mayfield with a short-handed WR room and against the stingiest defense on the slate.

Kareem Hunt (quad) can fill in for either RB (or even for flex) assuming he plays. Still, his quad injury could flare up and knock him out at any point in the game. If Hunt is ruled out before the game starts, Clyde Edwards-Helaire would be a great value option. Running against Kansas City is difficult, but either Rachaad White or Bucky Irving (toe) also could fill the flex spot on DK for their pass-catching skills. Fade them on FD.

[lawrence-related id=495490]

Because of their higher prices, Justin Jefferson and Xavier Worthy will be hard to squeeze under the cap, unless you go cheap at RB or flex. Consider stacking either of them with their respective QBs if you pivot to Sam Darnold or Patrick Mahomes. On DK, Michael Pittman Jr. is interchangeable with Josh Downs price-wise. It would be beneficial for you to create duplicate lineups where you only switch between the two of them. On FD, Pittman is decidedly cheaper. The punt choices would include Justin Watson and the Buccaneers’ WRs room (I’d lean toward Jalen McMillan).

I doubt I will fade Cade Otton. His matchup is just too damn delicious. If you want to squeeze in Justin Jefferson at WR on DK, consider sneaking in Noah Gray at flex. He is not Travis Kelce, but he has seen an uptick in usage with the WR injuries in KC. This is T.J. Hockenson‘s first game back from his offseason surgery. I expect him to play on roughly 70% of the snaps, so he could also slide in at flex. Just temper your expectations for a ceiling game.

Fantasy Football DFS Domination: Week 9

Breaking down the top players and sleepers for DraftKings and FanDuel for Week 9 DFS fantasy football.

In-game injuries are the scourge of DFS players. Last week, Jordan Mason (shoulder) and Jordan Love (groin) torpedoed several lineups with early exits. There isn’t a solution for when this happens; all you can do is ensure that your lineups have some variance. Also, with several key injuries in effect for Week 9, don’t assume that more volume will equal more points. Sometimes the exact opposite occurs.

Quarterback

Weekly strategy – Jalen Hurts is the straightforward choice. Lamar Jackson (back/knee) has a tougher matchup, but his rushing ability keeps him in play. A healthy Jordan Love (groin) would best them both. To save money, pivot to Kirk CousinsCaleb WilliamsDak Prescott, or Joe Flacco. The punt choices are Bo NixJustin Herbert, and Matthew Stafford.

Fantasy four-pack

Jalen Hurts, Eagles vs. JAX ($7,800 DK, $9,300 FDHurts leads all QBs in rushing TDs (including five in the last two weeks). Jacksonville is bottom-half against rushing QBs and bottom-two against passing QBs. Hurts should score both ways this week.

Lamar Jackson, Ravens vs. DEN ($8,000 DK, $8,900 FDJackson (back/knee) ranks second among QBs in total TDs, but this will be a tough matchup against an elite coverage unit. Still, Denver hasn’t been tested by a rushing QB since Week 2. If his knee issue doesn’t limit him, 240-2 and 60-1 are in play.

Jordan Love, Packers vs. DET ($7,000 DK, $8,400 FDLove (groin) is fighting an injury that forced him out of Week 8. Still, he expects to play this week. Detroit is much worse against the pass than the run, and this game is going to be a shootout. So build a QB stack with at least one Detroit WR/TE as well.

Kirk Cousins, Falcons vs. DAL ($6,400 DK, $7,500 FD) Dallas’ defense has allowed the second-most points per game to their opposition, including 94 total over their last three games. Meanwhile, Cousins has only six passing TDs in the six games against non-Tampa Bay opponents. Still, this feels like a keep-right game for him.

Sleepers

Bo Nix, Broncos @ BAL ($5,900 DK, $7,200 FD) Baltimore has allowed the most passing yards and the most passing TDs this season (including 13 over the last four games), plus their secondary has dealt with injuries to their top two corners. Since Week 5, Nix has looked solid, ranking fourth in QB points per game.

Matthew Stafford, Rams @ SEA ($5,700 DK, $7,600 FD) All Stafford needed was to get his two All-Pro WRs back. He threw for more TDs last week than he had the rest of the season combined. Seattle has allowed multiple TDs in four of their last five games. Even if Puka Nacua (knee) cannot go this weekend, more of the same is coming here.

Running back

Weekly strategy – Saquon Barkley, Alvin Kamara (hand/rib), and Kyren Williams all have juicy matchups. Unfortunately, their lofty prices make it hard to roster two of them. Derrick Henry is always an option, but the other three have better matchups. For a pivot, consider Bijan Robinson or James Cook. At RB2, choose between Tony Pollard (foot), Chuba Hubbard, De’Von Achane, and D’Andre Swift. Sleepers are few this week. Tyrone Tracy Jr. (concussion) would be an elite play if he can clear the concussion protocol. Chase Brown and Nick Chubb are the only other names to consider.

Fantasy four-pack

Alvin Kamara, Saints @ CAR ($7,800 DK, $8,800 FDCarolina improved their season numbers by allowing only 140-1 to the Denver RB room. For the rest of the season, they have allowed an average of 161-2 to RBs. Kamara will do damage both on the ground and through the air. My biggest concern here is the looming Taysom Hill vulture.

Kyren Williams, Rams @ SEA ($8,200 DK, $8,900 FDOver the last four games, Seattle has allowed an average of 194 combo yards to opposing RBs. Williams has topped the century mark in four of his last five starts, and he has scored at least once in every game this year. Anything short of 100-1 seems like a misprint.

Saquon Barkley, Eagles vs. JAX ($8,200 DK, $9,400 FDWatching Jalen Hurts vulture all the TDs is hard on Barkley owners. Still, he has topped 100 combo yards in every game but one. Only two teams allow more points per game, so Barkley should get in on the scoring fun this week.

Bijan Robinson, Falcons vs. DAL ($7,400 DK, $8,500 FD) Robinson has topped 100 combo yards each of the last three weeks. Over their last three contests, Dallas has allowed 166.3 rushing yards per game (over five yards per carry).

Sleepers

D’Andre Swift, Bears @ ARI ($6,400 DK, $7,200 FD) Since Week 4, among RBs, only Derrick Henry has more total yards. This is impressive since this stretch includes the Bears’ bye week.

Chuba Hubbard, Panthers vs. NO ($6,500 DK, $6,900 FD) Jonathan Brooks (knee) may finally return this week. It won’t matter as over the last four weeks, New Orleans has allowed 709 combo yards and seven TDs to the position.

Wide receiver

Weekly strategy – This week feels like the week to spend more elsewhere and save here. If you must spend up at WR1, use Justin JeffersonA.J. Brown, or CeeDee Lamb. I’d rather use Cooper Kupp, DeVonta Smith, or Drake LondonJosh Downs (toe) and Michael Pittman (back) make great WR2 options on FD & FB. Otherwise, use Jayden ReedChris Olave (if Derek Carr (oblique) plays), Romeo Doubs, or Darnell MooneyCourtland Sutton must be on your roster at WR3 or Flex. If you want to fade the obvious chalk, take a shot on Xavier Legette or Ladd McConkey instead. The Browns matchup is nowhere near as exceptional as last week, but Cedric Tillman and Elijah Moore are cheap enough that they make great punt options. Kalif RaymondParker Washington, and Jalen Coker fit the bill as well.

Fantasy four-pack

A.J. Brown, Eagles vs. JAX ($8,100 DK, $9,000 FD) Jacksonville ranks bottom-five in WR receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs. On the year, Brown has scored in three of four games and is averaging over 100 receiving yards per game. 5-100-1 feels like his floor here.

CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys @ ATL ($8,800, $9,100 FD) Disregarding last week against the makeshift Tampa Bay WR corps, Atlanta has allowed an average of 20.3 PPR points to opposing WR1s this season. Meanwhile, Lamb is coming off his best game of the season (13-146-2) and has 31 targets over his last two games.

Justin Jefferson, Vikings vs. IND (N/A, $9,200 FD) Jefferson ranks second among WRs in receiving yards, but he has scored only once in his last three games. The return of T.J. Hockenson may ding his target share this week, but in an assumed shootout, he will get back in the end zone.

Cooper Kupp, Rams @ SEA ($7,700 DK, $8,200 FD) It didn’t take long for Matthew Stafford to rekindle his affections for Kupp and Puka Nacua (knee). They combined for 12-157-1 on 17 targets. Now, Nacua aggravated his knee injury, so this may all go to Kupp this weekend. Seattle has faced only four “stud” WRs this year, but three of the four have scored. The one exception was Tyreek Hill with Skylar Thompson and Tim Boyle at QB.

Sleepers

Courtland Sutton, Broncos @ BAL ($5,400 DK, $6,000 FD) Sutton ranks 18th overall in targets this season. Unfortunately, with Bo Nix learning on the job, he has only 29 receptions to show for it. That said, the learning curve is reaching its apex as Sutton has topped 15 PPR points in three of his last four starts. Baltimore ranks dead last in yardage and TDs allowed to the position, so the combo should continue to eat here.

Romeo Doubs, Packers vs. DET ($5,700 DK, $6,300 FDAssuming that Jordan Love (groin) plays, this game will be a shootout. Since their bye, Doubs has led the Packers in every receiving category. He is a must-start here as Detroit has allowed at least 16 PPR points to each WR1 they have faced over their last five games.

Tight end

Weekly strategy – David Njoku and Kyle Pitts are the top options this week. Brock Bowers and Trey McBride are both more expensive and face stiffer competition. Evan Engram could see a volume boost because of injuries. Mark AndrewsTaysom Hill, Noah FantMike Gesicki, and Hunter Henry have favorable matchups for less money. For a deep punt, use Ja’Tavion Sanders or Theo Johnson.

Fantasy four-pack

David Njoku, Browns vs. LAC ($5,500 DK, $7,000 FDOver the last two games (coinciding with the elevation of Jameis Winston) Njoku has posted 15-137-2 on 21 targets. Los Angeles has faced only three elite TEs this year, and all have reached double-digit PPR points.

Kyle Pitts, Falcons vs. DAL ($4,900 DK, $6,000 FDOver his last four games, Pitts is averaging 5.2-79-0.5. Meanwhile, Dallas has allowed four TE scores over the last three weeks.

Brock Bowers, Raiders @ CIN ($6,000 DK, $7,700 FDBowers leads the entire NFL universe in receptions. It helps that he has hauled in 80% of his 65 targets. This sets up nicely as Cincy ranks bottom-seven in every TE receiving category.

Trey McBride, Cardinals vs. CHI ($5,800 DK, $6,800 FD) McBride still hasn’t scored, but he is coming off his best game of the year. He also ranks second in TE receptions and targets, as well as third in TE receiving yards. Over the last two weeks, Chicago has allowed 19-210 to the position.

Sleepers

Taysom Hill, Saints @ CAR ($3,800 DK, $5,900 FD) Carolina has allowed the most passing TDs to opposing QBs, the most rushing TDs to opposing RBs, and the most receiving TDs to opposing TEs. Hill may very well score all three ways this weekend.

Mark Andrews, Ravens vs. DEN ($4,200 DK, $5,800 FD) Andrews has four TDs in the last three games. Denver has been truly tested by the position only once this year. They failed that test (8-97-1) versus Brock Bowers.

Week 8 Primetime DFS Domination

Lineup recommendations for DraftKings and FanDuel for Week 8 DFS fantasy football primetime slate.

The massive popularity of small DFS slates has propelled us to expand our DFS coverage. I will give you my favorite lineup for the Primetime Slate each week. We will release these as soon as both sites release their pricing.

Recommended Primetime DFS lineups

DK Lineup: QB Dak Prescott ($6.5k), RB Jordan Mason ($7.9k), RB Najee Harris ($6.3k), WR Wan’Dale Robinson ($5.9k), WR Jalen Tolbert ($5.3k), WR Ricky Pearsall ($4.4k), TE Jake Ferguson ($5.3k), FLEX George Kittle ($5.8k), DST New York Giants ($2.5k)

FD Lineup: QB Dak Prescott ($7.6k), RB Jordan Mason ($8.9k), RB Rico Dowdle ($6.0k), WR CeeDee Lamb ($9.1k), WR Wan’Dale Robinson ($6.6k), WR Ricky Pearsall ($5.2k), TE Jake Ferguson ($6.1k), FLEX Najee Harris ($7.0k), DST New York Giants ($3.2k)

Brock Purdy can be your pivot if he gets back Deebo Samuel (wrist, illness). Otherwise, Russell Wilson stacked with George Pickens is the alt play to Dak Prescott.

He should be at full ownership with Jordan Mason (shoulder) slated to play. If I am going to pivot, it would be swapping out Najee Harris with Rico Dowdle. I like Tyrone Tracy Jr. more than Devin Singletary as a contrarian FLEX play, but, either way, the matchup is brutal. Jaylen Warren doesn’t have the Tracy upside, but his cost savings could allow you to pivot up in salary at WR2.

[lawrence-related id=495153]

If Samuel (illness) plays, you can use him instead of CeeDee Lamb on FD. On DK, you also can swap in Deebo alongside Pat Freiermuth instead of Jalen Tolbert and George KittleGeorge Pickens is the other WR1 pivot. If you go cheap at RB2, you could attempt to squeeze in Malik Nabers at WR2. He is an absolute stud, but this matchup is not optimal. Jauan Jennings (hip) has been announced as out. His absence opens up Ronnie Bell and Jacob Cowing as punt WR3s.

All four starting TEs are in play. George Kittle (foot) is the best choice, especially if the WR corps remains shorthanded. Jake Ferguson will be on most of my lineups in some form. Pat Freiermuth and Theo Johnson are more contrarian plays than anything else.

Fantasy Football DFS Domination: Week 8

Breaking down the top players and sleepers for DraftKings and FanDuel for Week 8 DFS fantasy football.

With no byes this week, the player pool is jumbo-sized. I would rather see a smaller player pool, but we’ll have to widen our net instead. This means setting more lineup combinations than normal. All of the QB injuries will thin out some targets at WR and TE. That is unless you want to relive the glory days of the 2015 draft and roll out lineups led by Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota. In their honor, I may need to roll out a lineup with their draftmates: Amari Cooper, Stefon Diggs, Nelson Agholor, and Tyler Lockett.

Quarterback

Weekly strategy – Jordan Love and Jalen Hurts are the top two options. Lamar Jackson also has a decent matchup, but the other options have better matchups at cheaper prices. The best thing is there are many value play choices here. Kirk Cousins and Caleb Williams provide 20-plus-point potential at significant cap savings from the higher-priced options. Justin Herbert is a great punt play.

Fantasy four-pack

Jordan Love, Packers @ JAX ($7,600 DK, $8,900 FD): Jacksonville ranks in the bottom five in completion percentage against and passing yards per game allowed. They also have allowed the most total passing TDs. Meanwhile, Love has thrown for 13 TDs over the last four games. Stack him with Romeo Doubs or Jayden Reed.

Jalen Hurts, Eagles @ CIN ($7,500 DK, $8,600 FDNo team has allowed more QB rushing yards than Cincy. Hurts will score on the ground and through the air this week. A.J. Brown will be the popular stack, but consider using DeVonta Smith or Grant  Calcaterra instead for variance.

Lamar Jackson, Ravens @ CLE ($8,000 DK, $8,800 FDCleveland has faced four “rushing” QBs. Those four have combined for 180 rushing yards. Meanwhile, Jackson hasn’t posted less than 40 rushing yards in any game this season. Jackson also has 12 passing TDs and 13 total scores over his last four starts. 250-2 and 40-1 seem in play.

Kirk Cousins, Falcons @ TB ($6,200 DK, $7,100 FD) Only two teams have allowed more total QB TDs than Tampa. This included allowing 509-4 to Cousins three weeks ago. He won’t repeat that line, but 300-3 seems reasonable as the opposition passes on the fourth-most 62.2% of all plays against Tampa.

Sleepers

Caleb Williams, Bears @ WAS ($6,000 DK, $7,400 FDOn paper, it appears that Washington’s secondary is playing better of late. It helps one’s numbers when they face Deshaun Watson and Andy Dalton. The schedule-makers aren’t going to be happy that we are not getting the rookie-rookie battle, but this game should still feature healthy scoring. Stack Williams with two of DJ MooreKeenan Allen, and Cole Kmet.

Justin Herbert, Chargers vs. NO ($5,400 DK, $7,300 FD) It’s taken a while for Herbert to get to know his new-look pass-catching corps. Fortunately, they are starting to develop a rapport with the veteran signal caller. New Orleans is allowing the fifth-most passing yards per game, but they have stalled out the opposition through 10 interceptions. Herbert seldom throws an INT. He has only thrown 43 career interceptions in 2,586 passing attempts for a 1.6%. This ranks third all-time.

Running back

Weekly strategy – Both Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry have safe floors. Still, Kenneth Walker III has a better matchup and a cheaper price. Considering the lack of punt plays this week, you will likely be spending up for two stars. So, save where you can. For pivots, consider Bijan Robinson, Breece Hall, and James Cook. Josh Jacobs is my favorite RB2 option. Kareem Hunt (hip), Chuba Hubbard, and D’Andre Swift are my RB2 pivots. Use either Javonte Williams or Rachaad White at FLEX.

Fantasy four-pack

Kenneth Walker III, Seahawks vs. BUF ($7,800 DK, $7,800 FDDespite playing only five games, Walker ranks third among RBs in total TDs. Meanwhile, Buffalo is allowing 160 combo yards per game to opposing RBs and the second-most receptions and receiving yards to the position.

Derrick Henry, Ravens @ CLE ($8,100 DK, $9,200 FDOver his last five games, Henry is averaging 159 scrimmage yards and 1.6 total TDs per game. Cleveland is above average against the run, but Henry is so good that it just doesn’t matter.

Saquon Barkley, Eagles @ CIN ($8,300 DK, $9,100 FDBarkley‘s non-usage in the passing game is befuddling, but he still has reached triple-digit total yards in every game but one. Only four teams have given up more RB rushing TDs than Cincy. The price is slightly inflated, but in a presumed shootout, you could do way worse.

Josh Jacobs, Packers @ JAX ($6,600 DK, $7,500 FDJacobs finally scored his first career receiving TD last week. That’s crazy seeing as how he has seen 45 or more targets each of the last four seasons. Jacksonville has allowed the most RB receptions and receiving yards. Plus, they have allowed the second-most RB receiving scores. Can Jacobs make it two games in a row with a TD reception?

Sleepers

Javonte Williams, Broncos vs. CAR ($6,000 DK, $6,000 FD) Carolina is giving up nearly 32 PPR points per game to opposing RBs. This includes an average of two RB touchdowns per game. Williams finally secured the lion’s share of the touches last week and scored twice. A repeat seems likely.

Kareem Hunt, Chiefs @ LV ($6,300 DK, $8,100 FD) Vegas has allowed three RB rushing scores over the last two weeks. Meanwhile, Hunt (hip) has seen 52 touches and three TDs over his last two games. With a weakened WR corps, expect KC to lean on Hunt once again.

Wide receiver

Weekly strategy – I expect to save money at this position this week. If I do spend up, it will be for Ja’Marr Chase or A.J. Brown. That said, Drake LondonJayden ReedDJ Moore, Tank Dell, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba will be more in my WR1 target range. Keenan Allen and Romeo Doubs also are in a juicy position at WR2. Ladd McConkey (hip) will round out my WR2 wishlist. For WR3, use one of the Niners, Buccaneers, Rashod Bateman, or Cedric Tillman.

Fantasy four-pack

Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals vs. PHI ($8,500 DK, $9,200 FD) Chase’s reception count is down this season, but he still ranks first in WR receiving yards and TDs. Before holding the offenses led by Daniel Jones and Deshaun Watson in check, opposing WR1s had averaged 6-92 against this defense, and each of them had scored at least once.

CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys @ SF (N/A, $9,100 FD) Lamb is only available on FD, and his price is borderline astronomical, but he is averaging 10.5 touches and 84 yards per game. If you do a late-game FD stack, use Dak Prescott, Lamb, Jordan Mason, and one of the 49ers fill-in WRs.

A.J. Brown, Eagles @ CIN ($8,200 DK, $9,000 FD) Three games played, each with a TD and two 100-yard performances have Brown averaging 22 PPR points per game played. Cincy has faced only four legit WR1s, three of them have scored, and the other posted 7-111.

Drake London, Falcons @ TB ($7,200 DK, $7,900 FD) In five career games against the Bucs, London has averaged 7.6-107. This includes an impressive 22-326-1 over their last two meetings.

Sleepers

Keenan Allen, Bears @ WAS ($5,800 DK, $6,400 FDAllen has underperformed this season, but he remains one of Caleb Williams‘ favorite targets, especially in the red zone. Multiple similar possession receivers have had success against this defense. Allen is the best stack with Williams here.

Romeo Doubs, Packers @ JAX ($5,700 DK, $6,100 FDDoubs did the squeaky-wheel thing and immediately was fed. Over the last two games, he has hauled in 11-143-2. Consider stacking both Doubs and Jayden Reed with Jordan Love here.

Tight end

Weekly strategy – Brock Bowers and Travis Kelce face off in a great TE battle. If you don’t use one of them, use Evan EngramDavid Njoku, Hunter Henry, or Kyle PittsCade Otton is a great value play. Will Dissly and Ja’Tavion Sanders (groin/wrist) are the punt choices.

Fantasy four-pack

Brock Bowers, Raiders @ KC ($6,100 DK, $7,400 FDBowers leads all TEs in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. That will happen when there are no other pass-catching threats on your offense. This is the perfect matchup for him since KC ranks in the bottom three in each of those categories.

Travis Kelce, Chiefs vs. LVR SF ($6,000 DK, $6,900 FD) The addition of DeAndre Hopkins will help some, but with a shortened list of pass-catchers, Kelce will continue to be peppered in targets.

David Njoku, Browns vs. BAL ($5,100 DK, $5,500 FD) Speaking of a shortened list of pass-catchers, Njoku should also continue to feast. Over the last two games, Njoku has led Cleveland in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. Plus, he finally has a competent QB.

George Kittle, 49ers vs. DAL (N/A, $7,800 FD) Kittle (foot) finds himself in a spot where this offense may be without Deebo Samuel Sr. (pneumonia) and Jauan Jennings (hip), not to mention Brandon Aiyuk (IR – knee). Dallas has allowed the fifth-most TE scores this season.

Sleepers

Cade Otton, Buccaneers vs. ATL ($3,500 DK, $5,200 FD) You may be noticing a trend at the TE position this week. The Bucs lost their top two WRs for the foreseeable future. Otton immediately stepped up hauling in eight of 10 passes for 100 yards.

Ja’Tavion Sanders, Panthers @ DEN ($3,100 DK, $5,000 FD) The change back to Bryce Young limits Sanders’ (groin/wrist) upside, but he is top 10 among TEs in targets and receptions over the last three weeks.

Week 7 Primetime DFS Domination

Lineup recommendations for DraftKings and FanDuel for Week 7 DFS fantasy football primetime slate.

The massive popularity of small DFS slates has propelled us to expand our DFS coverage. I will give you my favorite lineup for the Primetime Slate each week. We will release these as soon as both sites release their pricing.

Recommended Primetime DFS lineups

DK Lineup: QB Baker Mayfield ($6.8k), RB Derrick Henry ($8.0k), RB J.K. Dobbins ($6.3k), WR Mike Evans ($7.3k), WR Zay Flowers ($6.7k), WR Michael Wilson ($4.6k), TE Cade Otton ($3.6k), FLEX Sean Tucker ($4.0k), DST Arizona Cardinals ($2.5k)

FD Lineup: QB Baker Mayfield ($8.3k), RB Derrick Henry ($9.3k), RB J.K. Dobbins ($7.3k), WR Mike Evans ($8.0k), WR Ladd McConkey ($6.0k), WR Rashod Bateman ($5.6k), TE Cade Otton ($5.4k), FLEX Trey McBride ($5.8k), DST Los Angeles Chargers ($3.3k)

[lawrence-related id=494738]

I’d love to use Lamar Jackson, but his price is too high, and Baker Mayfield‘s matchup is just as juicy. Justin Herbert is the only other QB I would consider. If you use Jackson, look to stack with Zay Flowers, and Isaiah Likely, and run it back with Chris Godwin or Mike Evans. Just know that it is nearly impossible to afford Jackson and Derrick Henry together.

Speaking of Henry, I do not see a legit pivot from him, unless you go dirt cheap here and load up at WR. James Conner is the closest to a pivot, but I don’t love it. At RB2, consider one of the Buccaneers’ trio as a pivot from J.K. Dobbins. You can also consider one of the Steelers. If you don’t go double-TE, you must use Sean Tucker at FLEX.

Take your pick between Mike Evans (hamstring, questionable) and Chris Godwin at WR1. Zay Flowers and Davante Adams can sub in at WR1. That said, I love Flowers at WR2. Michael Wilson (ankle), Quentin Johnston (ankle), and Ladd McConkey (hip) are all fighting maladies, but each is in play as a pivot at WR2 or as a starter at WR3. If you don’t play Flowers, Rashod Bateman should be your WR3. Joshua Palmer or Greg Dortch could have value if the injured WRs in front of them end up out. Zay Jones, Nelson Agholor, and Sterling Shepard are potential punts.

The preference is to fit both Trey McBride and Cade Otton into the same lineup. Isaiah Likely is a semi-safe pivot from McBride. Instead of Otton, Tyler Conklin (hip) and Will Dissly (shoulder) could have value, assuming they play.

Fantasy Football DFS Domination: Week 7

Breaking down the top players and sleepers for DraftKings and FanDuel for Week 7 DFS fantasy football.

Five of the eight teams playing outside the main slate have anemic offenses. This means the main slate will have a much larger pool of quality players. Enjoy it while you can. Bye-pocalypse is on the horizon in a few short weeks. Unfortunately, with a larger pool to choose from, hitting those sleepers is mandatory. So prepare yourself to enter multiple lineup combinations this week.

Quarterback

Weekly strategy – Jayden Daniels is the only sure-thing high-priced QB this week. Jared Goff would be my pivot. Jalen HurtsC.J. Stroud, and Jordan Love could also be in play. Sam Darnold and Geno Smith provide some cost savings, but Andy Dalton is the ultimate punt option here.

Fantasy four-pack

Jayden Daniels, Commanders vs. CAR ($7,600 DK, $9,100 FDCarolina is allowing a league-worst 33.8 points per game. This includes allowing the second-most passing TDs and the most rushing TDs. Daniels will score both ways. Just know his ownership % will be high.

C.J. Stroud, Texans @ GB ($7,100 DK, $8,400 FDA nice pivot from Daniels in what should be a shootout. The loss of Nico Collins (IR – hamstring) didn’t slow Stroud last week as he threw for three TDs against a much stingier defense than this one.

Jalen Hurts, Eagles @ NYG ($7,300 DK, $8,500 FDHurts regained his weapons last week and immediately returned to fantasy relevance. The Giants have been mid against the pass, but they rank third-worst in rushing yards allowed to QBs.

Jared Goff, Lions @ MIN ($6,500 DK, $7,800 FD) Minnesota is allowing the league’s third-worst passing yards per game. They also have allowed six passing TDs over their last two outings. Meanwhile, Goff has seven passing TDs over his last three games.

Sleepers

Andy Dalton, Panthers @ WAS ($5,200 DK, $7,300 FDEveryone will be on Jayden Daniels in this game, so opt for the opposition at a lower cost and with lower ownership. Washington has allowed the second-most passing scores and the second-highest opponent passer rating. Pair Dalton with Diontae Johnson (ankle) and/or Xavier Legette and run it back with Terry McLaurin.

Sam Darnold, Vikings vs. DET ($6,200 DK, $7,500 FD) Darnold may have higher ownership than Jared Goff in this contest, but Detroit has a pass-funnel defense as teams throw the ball the second-most 68.5% of the time against them. With multiple weapons for both teams, this could get high-scoring.

Weekly strategy – Kyren Williams has the easiest matchup while Saquon Barkley gets the revenge game. One of them needs to be in your lineup. The only pivots with positive outlooks are Joe Mixon and David MontgomeryChuba Hubbard and Tony Pollard are the best RB2 choices. The other playable option is whoever starts at RB for Washington. Alexander Mattison and Trey Sermon will have volume punt value as long as Zamir White (groin) and Jonathan Taylor (ankle) remain out.

Fantasy four-pack

Kyren Williams, Rams vs. LVR ($8,100 DK, $8,600 FDVegas allows an atrocious 5.2 YPC to opposing rushers. They also are allowing 26.6 PPR points per game to the position. Despite playing only five games, Williams amazingly is second in total TDs scored.

Saquon Barkley, Eagles @ NYG ($8,200 DK, $9,000 FD) Barkley gets the revenge game against an Giants defense that has struggled with pass-catching RBs. His price is high, but Philly will get him at least one score against his former team.

Joe Mixon, Texans @ GB ($7,200 DK, $8,400 FDDespite playing only two-and-a-half games, Mixon has three total TDs and two 130-plus-yard games. The DK savings from the top two makes him a great pivot if you want to go big at WR.

David Montgomery, Lions @ MIN ($6,600 DK, $8,100 FDThe Vikings’ run defense is elite, but they also have jumped out to leads in most games, effectively forcing an opponent to throw the ball a league-high 72.9% of the time. This game will be much closer, and a shootout. Plus, Montgomery has scored in three of his last four meetings with Minnesota, and the Vikes will be without starting linebacker Blake Cashman.

Sleepers

Austin Ekeler, Commanders vs. CAR ($5,900 DK, $6,600 FD) Carolina is allowing the most total TDs to opposing RBs. This includes allowing nine scores over their last three games. Brian Robinson Jr. (knee) may return this week, but both would still make great plays here. If Robinson remains out, Ekeler could finish top-five in scoring.

Alexander Mattison, Raiders @ LAR ($5,500 DK, $6,100 FD) Mattison had already established a role as a goal-line vulture before Zamir White (groin) went down with an injury. Now, as the lead back, he gets to face a Rams defense that has allowed the fifth-most RB rushing TDs.

Wide receiver

Weekly strategy – Fill up your platter with Lions, Vikings, Commanders, Panthers, and Packers. Amon-Ra St. Brown is the top player. Justin Jefferson would be the pivot. At WR2, use one of Terry McLaurinJayden Reed (ankle), or Diontae Johnson (ankle). Also, consider the secondary pieces on each of these rosters at WR3. This is the week to do a QB+2 or QB+3 lineup. WR3 punts to consider are Jordan Whittington (shoulder), Noah Brown, Tre Tucker, and JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring).

Fantasy four-pack

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions @ MIN ($8,300 DK, $8,800 FDOpposing WR1s are averaging 7.4-100 against Minnesota. This includes allowing their last two opposing WR1s to average 10-120-1. Plus, St. Brown posted 19-252-2 against the Vikings last season. If you don’t use St. Brown, fit Jameson Williams into your lineup as a WR2.

Justin Jefferson, Vikings vs. DET ($8,500 DK, $9,400 FD) Jefferson is pricier than Amon-Ra St. Brown, but both are in play in this shootout. Mike Evans is the only WR1 not to top 15 PPR points against this defense.

Jayden Reed, Packers vs. HOU ($7,200 DK, $7,600 FDReed (ankle) was limited last week by injury, but he still scored. Houston has allowed the third-most WR scores, including a pair to the laughable New England WR room last week. Watch the injury report here, but if Reed plays, he will score at least once.

A.J. Brown, Eagles @ NYG ($8,000 DK, $8,900 FD) Brown averages 23.3 PPR points per game. Meanwhile, the Giants remain middle of the pack against WRs, and half of the WR1s facing them have scored at least once this season.

Sleepers

JuJu Smith-Schuster, Chiefs @ SF ($4,000 DK, $6,100 FD) At this price, it won’t take much for JuJu to reach 3x value. With all the WR injuries to KC, Smith-Schuster went bonkers in Week 5. He could easily top 4x value here as long as the hamstring injury that popped up Thursday doesn’t limit him. If he remains limited on Sunday, consider Noah Brown as a replacement for DK and Romeo Doubs on FD.

Jordan Whittington, Rams vs. LVR ($4,800 DK, $5,300 FDWhittington (shoulder) came out of nowhere to draw 18 targets in the last two games. If Cooper Kupp (ankle) remains out, Whittington should continue to see a healthy target share. Vegas’ pass defense numbers look solid, but they have faced a cream-puff schedule.

Tight End DraftKings FanDuel

Tight end

Weekly strategy – Spend up for one of the top four options. Dalton Schultz and David Njoku are the top pivots. You also can take a chance on Kyle PittsJa’Tavion Sanders and Theo Johnson are bottom-of-the-barrel punts.

Fantasy four-pack

George Kittle, 49ers vs. KC ($6,000 DK, $7,500 FDDespite playing only five games, no team has allowed more receptions to the position. KC also has given up the second-most total yards to the position. Meanwhile, despite missing a game, Kittle ranks top-four in TE receptions, receiving yards, and targets. Plus, he leads the league in TE touchdowns.

Travis Kelce, Chiefs @ SF ($6,300 DK, $7,100 FD) This is a great opportunity to go double-TE in the same game. Over his last two starts, Kelce has hauled in 16 of his 19 targets for 159 yards.

Brock Bowers, Raiders @ LAR ($5,800 DK, $7,000 FD) Bowers leads all TEs in every category except TDs. Now, he faces a team that has allowed the second-most TE scores. Something has to give here. As the only reliable target for Aidan O’Connell, the targets will continue to be astronomical.

Sam LaPorta, Lions @ MIN ($5,300 DK, $6,500 FD) In three of their last four contests, Minnesota has allowed double-digit PPR points to the position. While his usage has been sporadic, LaPorta has topped 50 receiving yards in back-to-back games.

Sleepers

Dalton Schultz, Texans @ GB ($4,200 DK, $5,200 FDIn the first game without Nico Collins (IR – hamstring), Schultz finished second on the team with eight targets. Now, he gets to face a Green Bay defense that has allowed an average of 16.6 PPR points to the position over their last four games.

David Njoku, Browns vs. CIN ($4,100 DK, $5,300 FDSomeone has to catch the ball for Cleveland. Finally healthy, Njoku saw seven targets last week. That number could double here, especially after the trade of Amari Cooper this week.
