Orlando Magic at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Orlando Magic at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Magic (5-17) visit Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Friday to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers (14-8). Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Magic vs. Cavaliers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Cavaliers destroyed Philadelphia 113-85 Wednesday, covering as 3.5-point home favorites. Cleveland was 0-2-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last 3 games before Wednesday’s victory and is 12-8-2 ATS on the season.

They’re led by offseason addition, G Donovan Mitchell. He is averaging 28.4 points per game and shooting 49.0% from the field. C Jarrett Allen, their 4th-leading scorer (13.5), is expected to miss Friday’s action.

Orlando has been decimated by injuries and is 9-12-1 ATS on the season. It is just 1-9 straight up on the road as well and is coming off a brutal 125-108 road loss to the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday.

The Magic are 1-0 ATS in the lone game in which they were double-figure underdogs (11.5), a 109-102 road loss to the Brooklyn Nets Monday. Orlando is led by 2022 No. 1 overall pick F Paolo Banchero, who is averaging 22.7 points per game.

Magic at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 113, Magic 102

Moneyline

PASS.

The Magic are 1-9 straight up on the road, and Cleveland is 9-1 straight up at home. While these values are fair, they are unplayable. Look to the spread for value.

Against the spread

BET CAVALIERS -10.5 (-105).

While the spread seems large, the Magic are on the road and coming off a game in which they allowed a combined 57 points to Atlanta guards Trae Young and Dejounte Murray.

The combination of Mitchell and G Darius Garland is just as lethal. Combine F Evan Mobley, who should be able to defend Banchero as well as anyone in the NBA, and the Cavaliers are a strong play.

Orlando is just 1-4 ATS over its last 5 games and Cleveland is 4-2-1 over its last 7. The Cavs are also 8-1-1 ATS at home.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 216.5 (-105).

The Cavaliers have gone Under in 6 of their last 7 games. They rank 29th in terms of pace while Orlando is 23rd.

Couple that with the Magic’s offense which has the 6th-worst offensive rating, and scoring may be difficult for the road squad. Neither team ranks in the top 15 in offensive rebounding either, so extra opportunities may be rare.

Put it all together with the fact that both teams rank in the bottom 10 in turnover rate yet neither will want to run, and the UNDER 216.5 (-110) is a strong play here.

Pacers at Jazz picks and predictions

Prediction

Jazz 122, Pacers 114

Moneyline

Indiana is 5-5 on the road this season, compared to Utah’s 7-3 home mark.

The Pacers swept the season series last year.

The Pacers have allowed an average of 119.6 points per game in their last 5 contests.

When the Jazz score 118 or more, they are 10-1.

But with the line priced the way it is, PASS on the moneyline.

Against the spread

The Pacers are 13-8 ATS this season and have covered the spread in 6 of their last 10 games.

The Jazz are 14-10 ATS on the season and 6-4 ATS at home.

Nine of the Jazz’ 13 wins have been by at least 6 points.

Seven of the Pacers’ 9 losses have been by at least 6 points.

BET JAZZ -4.5 (-110).

Over/Under

If the Jazz win, they will likely hit the 120-point mark. The Pacers have allowed 114 or more in 5 straight games.

The Jazz have allowed 112 or more in 9 straight games.

Only 2 of the Pacers’ last 10 games have reached 239 total points. Only 3 of the Jazz’ last 10 games have.

Nuggets at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Nuggets 119, Hawks 114

Moneyline

The Hawks have struggled recently, so NUGGETS (-140) is where I’m leaning in this game. Atlanta has lost 6 of its last 10 games and despite being 7-4 at home this season, it’s lost 2 of its last 4 home contests.

Against the spread

Even though Denver has beaten struggling teams on its win streak, NUGGETS -2.5 (-115) is an intriguing bet. C Nikola Jokic should have no issues having success against a hobbled frontcourt of the Hawks Friday.

The Nuggets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings with the Hawks.

Over/Under

OVER 231.5 (-115) appears to be the ideal wager. While the Hawks have the 20th-best offensive rating, the Nuggets own the 3rd-best offensive rating in the NBA.

The Hawks are 4-0 to the Over in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record. Also, the Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between the Nuggets and the Hawks.

The Heat suffered a 134-121 loss to the Celtics Wednesday as they failed to cover as 9.5-point road underdogs. Miami had a 3-game win streak before the loss but has still lost 5 of its last 8 games.

The Celtics covered the spread for the 5th straight game with the win Wednesday. Boston is amid a 5-game win streak and has won 9 of its last 10 outings.

Heat at Celtics picks and predictions

Prediction

Celtics 121, Heat 110

Moneyline

Just PASS on the moneyline in this game because the Celtics (-330) are so heavily favored at home. The risk of taking Boston straight up isn’t worth the return you’ll receive if the Celtics secure the victory.

Against the spread

The CELTICS -7.5 (-115) are the superior team right now and they own an 11-1 record at home. The Heat don’t have anyone that can contain F Jayson Tatum, who put up 49 points against Miami Wednesday.

The Celtics are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall and the Heat are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings with the Celtics.

Over/Under

While both of these teams are predicated on playing formidable defense, OVER 225.5 (-110) is the ideal wager in this game. The Heat and the Celtics have a combined 25-18-1 record to the Over this season.

The Over is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings between theses teams in Boston.

Conference USA Championship: North Texas at UTSA odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s North Texas at UTSA odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The North Texas Mean Green (7-5, 6-2 C-USA) meet the No. 24 UTSA Roadrunners (10-2, 8-0) Friday for the Conference USA Championship. Kickoff from Alamodome in San Antonio is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the North Texas vs. UTSA odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Rankings courtesy of AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

The Mean Green rebounded from a 41-21 loss at UAB on Nov. 12 to top Rice 21-17 Saturday. With the conference win in the regular-season finale, UNT clinched the 2nd spot in C-USA and a spot in the title game.

The Roadrunners topped the Mean Green 31-27 back on Oct. 22 at this very same venue, but UNT covered the 10-point number as the Under cashed.

UTSA picked up a wild 34-31 win against UTEP Saturday, but it failed to cover the 16.5-point number. UTSA has won 9 in a row dating back to a loss at Texas on Sept. 17, and that was its only loss in regulation for the season. The other setback was a 37-35 OT loss against Houston in the opener.

North Texas at UTSA picks and predictions

Prediction

UTSA 35, North Texas 31

Moneyline

UTSA (-330) will cost you over 3 times your potential return, and that’s very expensive, even on its home field.

North Texas gave the Roadrunners all they could handle in their late October meeting in San Antonio, and the offense has the depth and talent to hang around.

PASS.

Against the spread

NORTH TEXAS +9 (-110) is the lean in this conference title game.

While UNT is 0-4 ATS in the past 4 neutral-site games, it has covered 6 of the past 8 games overall and is 11-2 ATS in its last 13 inside Conference USA. The Mean Green has also covered 6 in a row against teams with a winning overall record.

UTSA is 12-5 ATS in the past 17 against teams with a winning record, and the home team is 8-1 ATS in the past 9 meetings. However, that lone non-cover was in late October. Look for the Mean Green to make this a one-score game again.

Over/Under

An UNDER 69.5 (-110) play is worth a roll of the dice, but it’s a half-unit play only.

The Under has cashed in 7 of the past 8 meetings between these sides, including the regular-season meeting. The Under is 4-0 in the past 4 meetings in San Antonio, too.

UTSA has cashed the Under in 5 of the past 7 games overall, and 5 of the past 7 inside C-USA, too.

Pac-12 Championship: Utah at USC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Utah at USC Pac-12 Championship Game odds and lines, with expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 11 Utah Utes (9-3, 7-2 Pac-12) meet the No. 4 USC Trojans (11-1, 8-1) Friday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Utah vs. USC odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Rankings courtesy of AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY sports

After the Utes lost 20-17 at Oregon on Nov. 19, it appeared Utah’s hopes of a Pac-12 Championship Game appearance were dashed. But Oregon State rallied to beat Oregon last weekend, helping Utah back into the title game.

Utah has won 5 of the last 6 games overall, while going 3-1 ATS in the last 4 games. The Under has cashed in 4 of the last 5 games for the Utes.

USC is on fire, winning 5 straight games and moving into the 4th spot of the College Football Playoff rankings. The Trojans win and they’re in.

USC’s only loss of the season came Oct. 15 in Salt Lake City 43-42 against Utah, as the Utes covered a 3.5-point number and the Over easily connected.

The Over has hit in 6 in a row for USC, and QB Caleb Williams and the offense has been humming. The Trojans have posted 41 or more points in 6 straight games, and in 10 of 12 games this season.

Utah vs. USC picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 38, Utah 35

Moneyline

USC (-140) is worth playing if you don’t want to mess around with laying the points. This will be a close, high-scoring game similar to the 1st meeting in the regular-season.

The Trojans have it all on the line here, as the Heisman is at stake for Williams, a spot in the CFP is up for grabs, and all USC needs to do is win. It just so happens it comes against the only team it lost against, so this game will have plenty of drama.

Against the spread

USC -2.5 (-116) is the lean here, ever so slightly.

The Utes are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 games against teams with a winning overall record, and their last win against a winning team was against USC.

The Trojans are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 games overall, and 4-0 ATS in the last 4 against teams with a winning overall record. That’s all well and good, but USC is 1-10 ATS in the last 11 neutral-site games, so take it slow.

Over/Under

OVER 67 (-110) is the play here.

The Over easily cashed in the 1st meeting. And while the Under is 4-1 in the last 5 games overall for the Utes and 4-1 in the last 5 Pac-12 conference tilts, the Over is where it’s at here.

The USC offense has been rolling along, and the Over has hit in 6 in a row, while going 4-1 in the last 5 neutral-site battles.

Washington Wizards at Charlotte Hornets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Washington Wizards at Charlotte Hornets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Washington Wizards (11-11) meet the Charlotte Hornets (6-15) Friday at Spectrum Center in Charlotte. Tip is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Wizards vs. Hornets odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Wizards have won just once in the past 5 games overall, going 1-2-2 against the spread during the span. Washington will be very pleased to see the Hornets, as 2 of its last 7 victories have been against them.

The Hornets not only lost in D.C. in the most recent meeting, but they fell against the Wizards in the Queen City on Nov. 7 by a 108-100 count as a 2-point favorite. The Under has cashed in both of the meetings between these teams this season.

Wizards at Hornets picks and predictions

Prediction

Wizards 112, Hornets 106

Moneyline

The WIZARDS (-155) are a decent play as a moderate favorite if you don’t feel like messing around with the points. However, considering the way Washington has handled Charlotte, and the way the Hornets have struggled against everybody, laying two buckets is no big deal.

Against the spread

The WIZARDS -3.5 (-110) appear to be a poor choice, as they’re just 1-5-2 ATS in the past 8 games overall while going 0-2-2 ATS in the past 4 on the road.

However, Washington has won the first 2 games against Charlotte by this margin, including the most recent visit to Queen City in early November. Keep striking while the iron is hot.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 222.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in each of the first 2 meetings this season, and the Under has been the dominant trend in this series beyond this year, too. The Under is 8-1 in the previous 9 meetings overall while going 6-0 in the past 6 battles in Charlotte.

The Under is also 20-8-1 in the past 29 games at Spectrum Center for the Hornets, while going 5-1-1 in the past 7 at home against teams with a losing road record, too.

2022 World Cup: Cameroon vs. Brazil odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Cameroon vs. Brazil odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In the final Group G group stage match, Cameroon (0 win, 1 losses, 1 draw) and Brazil (2-0-0) meet Friday at Lusail Iconic Stadium at 2 p.m. ET (FOX/Telemundo). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Cameroon vs. Brazil odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Cameroon steps onto the pitch with just 1 out of a possible 6 points, but still holding the potential to move on. It will take a miracle, as it needs to beat Brazil, but with Canarinho already through to the Round of 16, the Indomitable Lions have a shot. Cameroon also needs Switzerland to fall to Serbia, then it comes down to goal differential.

Brazil posted a 2-0 win over Serbia thanks to a pair of goals from F Richarlison, and M Casemiro bagged a goal at 83′ to break up a scoreless match against Switzerland on Monday. Brazil has been more than fine even with superstar F Neymar nursing an ankle injury.

Prediction

Brazil 2, Cameroon 1

Moneyline (ML)

Brazil (-260) will cost you more than 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s super expensive, especially since it has very little to play for.

Cameroon (+720) will have its foot on the gas, and it scored 3 goals last time out against Serbia. But it won’t come close to doing that here, even if Brazil plays reserves for a good chunk of the match. CAMEROON +2 (-133) is a strong play, as the Lions will be pushing hard, and it has shown a penchant for goal scoring.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 2.5 (-135) is strong option.

Brazil is a gifted and deep group, and even the reserves are capable of scoring should they get the opportunity. Cameroon played strong defense in the opener, falling to Switzerland 1-0 in the opener. It played a very exciting 3-3 draw against Serbia last time out, and it showed it has the offense to get on the board when it plays more up tempo. That will certainly be the case here, as it is playing for its World Cup life.

NFL Week 13 parlay: Let’s make some money

Analyzing NFL Week 13 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

Thanksgiving is over. Our bellies are full. Now it’s time to fill our wallets for the rest of the holiday season.

After looking at Tipico Sportsbook’s NFL Week 13 odds, here is a “Let’s make some money” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

Some weeks are easy to find parlays to make. Other times, it’s far more difficult.

This week, despite some tough lines, I found a parlay I really like.

NFL Week 13: Let’s make some money parlay

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated on Friday at 1:05 a.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

Leg 1: Jaguars at Lions OVER 51 (-110) – 1 p.m. (FOX)

These might be my 2 favorite NFL teams that I like to watch even though I have a rooting interest in them.

Jacksonville and QB Trevor Lawrence claimed a huge 28-27 upset victory over the Baltimore Ravens last week. WR Zay Jones had a career game with 145 receiving yards (on 11 receptions) The foot injury to RB Travis Etienne is concerning — he didn’t play the 2nd half. But both he and coach Doug Pederson said he is clear to play this Sunday when they face a hard-fighting, but not stellar Detroit Lions team.

Lions RB Jamaal Williams leads the NFL with 13 rushing TDs. He’ll likely get another one here, but the Lions defense is the real reason I like the Over. It will give up plenty of points to the Jaguars.

Being at home and being indoors, this game feels ripe to go Over 51. The high number might be a little nerve racking, but I’m willing to take it with these 2 teams involved.

OVER 51 (-110) is my play to start off this week’s parlay.

Leg 2: Steelers at FALCONS (-105) – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Falcons lost a tough one at the Washington Commanders 19-13 last week after QB Marcus Mariota threw a red-zone interception with 1:03 left.

In a pouring rain, Atlanta and Washington played a game of who can run the ball more. Washington won … and it won again when Mariota threw the ball on 2nd-and-goal from the 4-yard line into the end zone.

Pittsburgh comes in after winning 24-17 on the road Monday night against an Indianapolis Colts team which did itself no favors with its time management.

Coach Jeff Saturday is now 1-2 in the big chair and the Colts are going nowhere.

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson is still dropping far too many balls, and this included a dropped TD Monday which could have led to the Steelers losing to the Colts. Luckily, QB Kenny Pickett finally showed why he was the 1st QB taken in the 2022 NFL Draft in leading the Steelers to the win.

Going on the road again, on a short week will not be easy for the Steelers. Doing so against a physical Falcons team that wants to run the ball will be even more difficult. This will be low scoring and the thought that Pittsburgh RB Najee Harris is questionable also leads to the conclusion that the wrong team is favored.

I’ll TAKE FALCONS (-105) to win.

Leg 3: Broncos at RAVENS -8 (-109) – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Ravens are coming off the 1-point loss on the Jaguars’ last-minute drive. But this was not surprising to many. The Ravens’ -3.5 line last week was fishy. Looking back, the Jaguars have also played the Ravens strong. Winning 15 of their previous 25 meetings. But the Broncos are a different team and a terrible one at that.

Baltimore returns home and QB Lamar Jackson will have the Ravens fans cheering as he goes up and down the field on the Denver defense. A good defense but one which became worse after trading DE Bradley Chubb to Miami.

The offense for the Broncos is non-existent. QR Jerry Jeudy is still injured, and the team has no semblance of a run game since RB Javonte Williams was injured, RB Melvin Gordon was released and RB Chase Edmonds, a major part of the Miami trade package for Chubb, was deemed out for the rest of the season.

This has been an awful season for Denver and starting QB Russell Wilson. It continues this week in Baltimore as the Ravens stomp the Broncos.

Give me the RAVENS -8 (-109) to cover in this one.

Parlay payout: Bet $10 to win $71.47 (profit $61.47).

Leg 4-*: COMMANDERS -2.5 (-109) at Giants – 1 p.m.  (FOX)

*-If you want to add a 4th play to this parlay:

The Commanders are finally getting to what they do best. Run the Ball. The Commanders have won their last 3 games and come into New York looking for a 4th heading into their bye week.

For Washington, this is the 1st of back-to-back games against the Giants — with the bye in between. The Giants (7-4) sit in the 6th NFC playoff spot and the Commanders (7-5) are 7th, just a half-game ahead of the Seattle Seahawks (6-5).

While Giants RB Saquon Barkley is having a comeback season, QB Daniel Jones is starting to struggle with minimal receivers left healthy. WR Kenny Golladay has done nothing, and rookie WR Wan’Dale Robinson is injured and out for the season. WR Darius Slayton is nice, but not as an only option.

The Commanders are on the upswing and the Giants are starting to falter. I like WASHINGTON to win and COVER THE -2.5 spread in New Jersey.

Parlay payout: Bet $10 to win $137.03 (profit $127.03).
