NBA, Boston Celtics social media react to the Jrue Holiday trade

The move took many by surprise given how shallow the deal makes the Celtics’ already-thin frontcourt rotation, with others over the moon with the potential of the team.

The Boston Celtics have decided to pull the trigger on a major trade for All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday, sending 2023 Sixth Man of the Year Malcolm Brogdon to the Portland Trail Blazers with fan favorite big man Robert Williams III and draft assets to land the champion floor general.

The move took many by surprise given how shallow the deal makes the Celtics’ already-thin frontcourt rotation, with others over the moon with the potential of the team’s primary six-man rotation of Holiday, guard Derrick White, All-NBA forwards Jaylen Brown, and Jayson Tatum, star big man Kristaps Porzingis, and veteran forward Al Horford.

Let’s take a look at some of the reactions on social media out there in the wake of the trade.

Panthers fans react to Sam Franklin’s record-breaking 99-yard INT return for TD

Panthers fans went bonkers over Sam Franklin’s record-breaking 99-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Carolina Panthers safety Sam Franklin, who made the start in place of an injured Xavier Woods, created some history very early on in Sunday’s matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

On the very first drive of the game, one that was actually propelled by a 45-yard pass interference penalty on the veteran defensive back, Franklin jumped the route of wide receiver K.J. Osborn and picked off quarterback Kirk Cousins. He proceeded to take the takeaway for a 99-yard trip to the end zone, helping give the Panthers a 7-0 lead just five minutes into the contest.

Franklin’s return now stands as the longest in franchise history, breaking the previous record of 97 yards by future Pro Football Hall of Famer and future Hall of Honor inductee Julius Peppers.

Here’s how the Carolina fans over on Twitter reacted to the huge play:

Panthers fans react to Andy Dalton’s impressive team debut

Andy Dalton sparked Carolina’s struggling offense on Sunday. But, of course, Panthers fans didn’t have some completely crazy hot takes on the outing . . . right?

His start didn’t result in a win, but Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton let it rip throughout his 2023 debut on Sunday. The 35-year-old veteran completed 34 of a career-high 58 throws for 361 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

But what did Panthers fans have to say about the outing?

If you dare, let’s take a look . . .

NFL Twitter reacts to Bryce Young’s baffling rookie mistake on MNF

On Monday night, Panthers rookie QB Bryce Young lined up behind the wrong man for a snap. And NFL fans, as they do, would let him have it.

In case you missed it, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young made an alarming, but pretty hilarious rookie mistake last night.

On a key third-and-3 spot in the fourth quarter of Monday’s eventual 20-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints, Young—who may have been processing a tad too much—lined up for the snap behind the wrong lineman. Instead of setting himself to center Bradley Bozeman, he stopped at the back of right guard Calvin Throckmorton.

Luckily, his battery mate was aware enough to save him . . .

The play resulted in a sack and, unsurprisingly, a bit of fun on Twitter . . .

NFL Twitter reacts to Bryce Young’s rough Monday night debut

NFL fans didn’t seem overly impressed by Bryce Young’s MNF debut . . .

Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young just got his first shot on the professional prime-time stage. But unfortunately, the showing didn’t result in a win nor an impressive outing for the 2023 No. 1 overall pick.

So, here’s the byproduct—courtesy of our friends over at Twitter (or is it X?)—of putting up a stinker in the spotlight:

Fans implore Panthers to pay Brian Burns after dominant Week 1 performance

Panthers fans seem to be getting impatient with the lack of a contract extension for Brian Burns, especially after his stellar Week 1 performance.

Brian Burns has given the Carolina Panthers plenty of reasons to meet him on a new contract, and he gave them a few more on Sunday.

Even in a 24-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, the two-time Pro Bowl pass rusher was phenomenal to kick off the regular season—registering seven tackles, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble. Heck, opposing head coach Arthur Smith admitted after the game that he had to scheme his offense away from Burns because of how he wrecked the game.

Unsurprisingly, the performance didn’t go unnoticed by the Carolina faithful—who made their feelings about the situation known throughout the afternoon . . .

Panthers fans react to Bryce Young’s NFL debut

Panthers fans went through their first experience of the Bryce Age on Sunday.

By his own admission (and just because it was pure fact), Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young did not have a great regular-season debut on Sunday. But what did the fans think of the outing?

Here are some of the best reactions from Week 1’s 24-10 loss:

Panthers fans react to Bryce Young’s 1st career TD pass

The Bryce Young era has its first official TD.

Unfortunately for Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young, his first career interception came before his first career touchdown pass. But the fact that the latter quickly succeeded the former made his score all the more impressive.

Young, just two possessions after the pick, found tight end Hayden Hurst on a 4-yard connection to help knot the game up at 7-7. He completed all six of his passes for 51 yards on the 12-play, 75-trek.

Here’s how Panthers fans reacted to what’ll be the first of many trips to the end zone for the 2023 No. 1 overall pick:

Panthers fans react to Bryce Young’s 1st career INT

Well, it was going to happen eventually for Bryce Young . . .

Well, it was going to come sooner or later.

After a pretty clean preseason for Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young, where he didn’t commit a single turnover, he threw the first interception of his NFL career in his very first NFL regular-season start. The pick, courtesy of new Atlanta Falcons safety Jessie Bates, came deep in Panthers territory on a pass intended for tight end Hayden Hurst.

Here’s how Carolina fans reacted to the play:

Panthers fans react to Matt Rhule’s painful debut for Nebraska

Football season (and petty season) started early for many Panthers fans, who tuned in to Matt Rhule’s debut for Nebraska on Thursday night.

Carolina Panthers fans tuned in to an all-too-familiar scene last night. But this time, it wasn’t at their expense.

Former Panthers head coach Matt Rhule made his debut on the sideline for the University of Nebraska on Thursday—one that ended in a painful 13-10 loss for the Cornhuskers. And, as expected, the Carolina faithful had some fun with it . . .
