Muhsin Muhammad was honored by the Carolina Panthers over the weekend

Muhsin Muhammad had a very solid career in the National Football League, spending 1996 to 2009 in the league, majority with the Carolina Panthers, but also a three year stint in Chicago for the Bears. In that span, Muhammad racked up 860 receptions, 11,438 yards and 62 touchdowns, along with a plethora of franchise records.

For his outstanding career, Muhammad was honored by the Panthers being inducted into the Panthers Hall of Honor.

Muhammad was a standout in East Lansing from 1991 to 1995 with Michigan State.

Michigan State women’s soccer wins plethora of Big Ten awards

MSU’s women’s soccer team brought home a plethora of Big Ten awards after an outstanding 2023 season:

The Michigan State women’s soccer team once again had an outstanding season under head coach Jeff Hosler. Going 12-3-3 and taking home their second straight Big Ten championship, Michigan State is building a very special program in East Lansing.

Along with the Big Ten championship, the Spartans brought home a plethora of Big Ten awards, honoring the outstanding work the team did over the course of the 2023 season:

No. 7 Michigan State drops game one to No. 3 Boston College, will look for split

No. 7 MSU drops game on against No. 3 BC, will look to split series on Friday night:

Michigan State traveled to Chesnut Hill for a highly anticipated, and star studded clash, with the Boston College Eagles, the No. 3 team in the nation. It was a valiant effort for the Spartans, but ultimately the team fell short in game one, losing 6-4.

Karsen Dorwart led the way for MSU, scoring two goals in the game, while Jeremy Davidson and Red Savage also added to the scoring column.

The Spartans will look for a split in the series when the rematch takes place on Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.

Michigan State hockey defenseman given first round scouting grade

An MSU defenseman is being considered a first round pick according to The Hockey News:

Michigan State defenseman Artyom Levshunov has received a lot of praise so far this season. The freshman defenseman has already recorded 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) in 6 games in the young MSU season.

Levshunov’s stellar play hasn’t gone unnoticed, as The Hockey News has released it’s preliminary watch list for the 2024 NHL Draft, and Levshunov has received a first round grade.

Michigan State women’s soccer wins Big Ten championship for second straight year

MSU has clinched the 2023 Big Ten Championship, their second straight title:

Michigan State women’s soccer has just clinched the 2023 Big Ten Regular Season Championship, their back to back Big Ten championship after winning the crown in 2022.

In 2023, the Spartans held a 12-3-3 record overall, but a 7-1-2 record inside the conference on their way to the championship.

As the one seed in the Big Ten Tournament, the Spartans will face off Iowa on their quest for a conference tournament championship.

Michigan State hockey checks in at No. 8 in latest poll

MSU checks in at No. 8 in the latest polls:

Michigan State hockey has opened this season hot, jumping out to a 5-1 record, with sweeps of Lake Superior State and Canisius at home and a split on the road against Air Force.

Following this hot start, the Spartans have kept themselves firmly inside of the top ten of the USCHO polls. This week, MSU checks in at No. 8 with a matchup against No. 3 Boston College on the horizon.

Joey Larson wins Big Ten Second Star of the Week

Joey Larson was rewarded for his efforts at Air Force last week:

Michigan State hockey is off and running in the 2023-24 season, jumping out to an early 3-1 record, sweeping Lake Superior State before splitting with Air Force. In this past week’s split with Air Force, sophomore Joey Larson was a star for Michigan State, recording 5 points in the series, while scoring a hat trick.

Michigan State tennis star Ozan Baris wins Battle in the Bay

Ozan Baris is adding to his trophy case

Ozan Baris has been a star in his amateur career since arriving in East Lansing and he is continuing to add to his trophy case. Baris has won the Battle in the Bay tournament.

Baris defeated fellow MSU teammate Ronnie Hohmann, TCU’s Jack Pinnington and Illinois’s Karlis Ozolins en route to the championship.
