At 6-3 and 241 pounds, Walker ran the 40-yard dash in 4.52 seconds, covered 10-2 in the broad jump and completed the three-cone drill in 6.89 seconds. He also started 15 games for one of the best defenses in college football history last season.

Quick predictions for the Packers in the first round of the 2022 draft

What will the Packers do in the first round on Thursday night? Here are some quick predictions.

The Green Bay Packers are entering Thursday night as one of eight teams with two first-round picks in the 2022 NFL draft. General manager Brian Gutekunst holds picks No. 22 and No. 28.

How will Gutekunst and the Packers handle the first round?

Here are a few predictions for the Packers on Day 1 of the 2022 NFL draft:

Aaron Jones to announce Packers’ second-round picks during 2022 draft

RB Aaron Jones will announce the Packers’ picks in the second round during the 2022 NFL draft.

Fans of the Green Bay Packers will recognize the man announcing the team’s second-round picks on Friday of the 2022 NFL draft. The league revealed that Pro Bowl running back Aaron Jones will be among the notable players and former players to announce picks during Day 2 of the draft.

Jones, a fifth-round pick of the Packers in 2017, will be in Las Vegas to make the announcements. He’ll be busy. Barring a trade, Jones will announce the Packers’ picks at No. 53 overall and No. 59 overall.

The Packers have their original second-round pick plus an extra second-rounder after trading away Davante Adams.

Jones, a Pro Bowler in 2020, will be one of seven active NFL players to announce draft picks on Day 2.

Last year, outside linebacker Rashan Gary announced picks for the Packers on Friday of the draft.

The full list of players and former players scheduled to make picks during Day 2 can be found here.

Packers exploring trade-up scenarios in first round of 2022 draft

The Packers look like one of the most likely teams to move up during Thursday night’s first round. Maybe for a receiver?

The Green Bay Packers, with two first-round picks and five picks in the top 100, look like one of the favorites to move up during Thursday night’s first round of the 2022 NFL draft.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Packers are one team exploring trade-up scenarios, possibly as a way to secure “their receiver of choice.”

It should come as no surprise. General manager Brian Gutekunst has traded up in the first round to secure a player in 2018 (Jaire Alexander, after first trading back), 2019 (Darnell Savage) and 2020 (Jordan Love).

The Packers hold picks No. 22 and No. 28 overall in the first round. Moving up several spots could help Gutekunst get a wide receiver such as Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Drake London or Jameson Williams.

We outlined some possible trade-up possibilities for the Packers in the first round. If he wanted, Gutekunst could probably package picks and get into the top 10. The more likely scenario is moving up into the early teens, possibly as a way to jump receiver-needy teams like the Eagles and Saints.

As always, teams only have a certain number of players with first-round grades. The Packers might not want to wait around and see every player with a blue-chip grade come off the board before No. 22. And with a second first-round pick, the Packers could feasibly trade up from No. 22 and then trade back from No. 28 to recoup any lost draft capital.

Packers get WR Treylon Burks, OLB Drake Jackson in Dane Brugler’s final 2022 mock draft

The Packers got Arkansas WR Treylon Burks and USC OLB Drake Jackson in Dane Brugler’s final 2022 mock draft for The Athletic.

A review and breakdown of predictions for the Green Bay Packers in final 2022 mock drafts from a few of the most prominent analysts in the business:

The mock draft: Dane Brugler, The Athletic

The picks: WR Treylon Burks at 22, OLB Drake Jackson at 28

The reasoning

On Burks: “Some teams question if Burks will be an immediate starter or if he will require time, but the Packers value size and run-after-catch skills, and Burks offers both in a big way.”

On Jackson: “In the 2009 NFL Draft, the Packers selected an intriguing edge rusher out of USC in Clay Matthews. Maybe they go that route again with Jackson, who has a ton of ability.”

Our breakdown: Burks won’t be a fit for every team needing a wide receiver, but he could be the right guy for the Packers, especially if Matt LaFleur can find ways of manufacturing touches early on. The Arkansas star plays fast and chews up yards after the catch but may need time to develop his game overall. Jackson could be one of the first-round surprises on Thursday night. He’s young (just turned 21) and explosive, with the right kind of acceleration and bendy to terrorize offensive tackles if he can develop a more well-rounded pass-rush plan. He checks a lot of boxes for the Packers in a first-round prospect. This first-round duo comes with a bunch of risk, given how much development both players need, but the payoff could also be huge. They also help solve the roster’s most pressing immediate and long-term needs.

Here’s who the Packers are getting in final mock drafts of 2022

Looking at the first-round picks for the Packers in final mock drafts of the 2022 draft cycle.

It’s the final day for first-round mock drafts during the 2022 NFL draft cycle. The first 32 picks will be made Thursday night, and by early Friday morning, the Green Bay Packers – who hold picks at No. 22 and No. 28 – could have two new players.

All of the top draft analysts and prognosticators are submitting their final mock drafts for the first round on Thursday morning.

Here’s who the Packers are getting in those mocks:

Packers get DL Logan Hall, OLB Arnold Ebiketie in Josh Norris’ final 2022 mock draft

The Packers got Houston DL Logan Hall and Penn State edge rusher Arnold Ebiketie in Josh Norris’ final mock draft for 2022.

A review and breakdown of predictions for the Green Bay Packers in final 2022 mock drafts from a few of the most prominent analysts in the business:

The mock draft: Josh Norris, Underdog Network

The picks: DL Logan Hall at 22, OLB Arnold Ebikeite at 28

The reasoning

On Hall: “I know we all want to force receiver, but there is a growing buzz that Hall will be selected by one of these teams at the end of round one. Pass rush juice is needed after the loss of Zadarius Smith even if the two don’t play the same position.”

On Ebikeite: “Yes, even after Logan Hall the Packers add another pass rusher. I would love to give them George Pickens. I do not think Jahan Dotson makes sense in round one.”

Our breakdown: Social media would burn if the Packers take two defensive front players in the first round. But put the pitchforks away; the Packers can get big guys early and still fully address the wide receiver position later. In Hall, the Packers would get a versatile, disruptive and athletic hybrid player who might have the ability to play on the edge and inside at multiple positions. He could be the interior penetrator (6.5 sacks in 2021) the Packers need, while also providing depth on the edge. Getting Ebikeite six picks later would complete the pass-rushing group and give the Packers one of the deepest and most versatile outside linebacker groups in football. After transferring from Temple, Ebikeite immediately became a top edge rusher in the Big Ten in 2021 (18 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks), and he tested really well during the pre-draft process. He’s shorter but has long arms and intriguing movement ability. The Packers defense could go from good to great if both Hall and Ebikeite are hits.

The player info

Hall

Height: 6-6
Weight: 283
40-yard dash: 4.88
Vertical leap: 30.0
Broad jump: DNP
Three-cone: 7.25
