Jets bench Zach Wilson in favor of Tim Boyle at quarterback

Tim Boyle will start for the Jets against the Dolphins

The New York Jets will start Tim Boyle against the Miami Dolphins on Black Friday.

And that means Monday was another black mark on the NFL career of Zach Wilson.

He has been benched after the team fell to 4-6 in a loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Boyle is winless in three starts from his NFL career.

Those starts came as a Detroit Lion in 2021.

Boyle was 7-of-14 for 33 yards with an interception in the loss to the Bills in Week 11.

2024 NFL Mock Draft: Bears rule the roost with two top-five picks

In this two-round 2024 NFL mock draft, the Chicago Bears continue with Justin Fields as their quarterback, and start to build around him with the first and fifth picks.

The Chicago Bears’ 16-13 win over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night was a double victory for the Monsters of the Midway. Not only did they “up” their record to 3-7 on the season, but the first-round Panthers pick, owned by the Bears as part of the trade to select Bryce Young with the first pick in the 2023 NFL draft, is now the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, because the Panthers are 1-8.

That puts forth an interesting question for the Bears, and whoever’s in charge of their personnel in 2024, whether it’s current general manager Ryan Poles, or somebody else: Are they happy enough with the development of quarterback Justin Fields (when he’s healthy) to avoid taking one of the two rock star quarterbacks — USC’s Caleb Williams of North Carolina’s Drake Maye — with that first pick? Chicago also has its own fifth overall pick as a result of its own dismal record, so it’s either hold onto Fields and build around him, or punt to a new guy.

In this mock draft, the Bears do show faith in Fields, giving him a possibly “generational” receiver in Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. with the first pick, and a potential franchise edge-rusher in UCLA’s Laiatu Latu.

The Los Angeles Chargers grounded the New York Jets 27-6. Here are some of the best tweets from the game.

If anyone had to pick the putrid quarterback on Monday Night Football between the Los Angeles Chargers and New York Jets, smart money would say Zach Wilson.

Try Justin Herbert.

The Chargers’ signal caller went 16-of-30 for 136 yards and a 65.4 passer rating. In fact, Wilson “outplayed” Herbert going 33-of-49 for 263 yards and an 80.6 rating.

However, the Chargers were able to keep the Jets out of the end zone, and it was reflected in the 27-6 final.

New York Jets fans will be thrilled to see this sight: Aaron Rodgers arrived at MetLife Stadium on Monday.

The surefire future Hall of Famer walked on his own — no cart — and had no limp as he entered the locker room.

This will bolster the dreams of Jets fans, who surely would love to see Rodgers return before the end of the regular season, especially if they  somehow remaining in the playoff hunt.

Giants net -9 passing yards in horrendous overtime loss to the Jets

The Jets downed the Giants in overtime in one ugly game

This will go down as one of the ugliest games of 2023 or any NFL season.

The New York Jets “earned” a road victory over the New York Giants, 13-10, on Sunday.

The game went to overtime when Greg Zuerlein kicked a field goal as time expired and then hit one in the extra session.

How wretched was the Giants’ strategy in the final minutes of regulation?

Big Blue accounted for a net of -9 yards passing.

The Giants had a chance to go for it on fourth-and-1 late to close out the game.

Brian Daboll opted for a field-goal try and Graham Gano missed, giving the Jets a last gasp.

Tommy DeVito, who replaced an injured Tyrod Taylor, was 2-of-7 passing for -1 yard.

Fans chanted “Let him throw” and DeVito was rarely given the opportunity.
