Saints request to interview Eagles OC Kellen Moore for vacant HC job

Saints request to interview Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore for their vacant head coaching job

The Eagles have one of the NFL’s best offensive units, and after a record-breaking season, offensive coordinator Kellen Moore will draw interest for head coaching positions.

Jane Slater reports that the New Orleans Saints have requested an interview with Moore.

New Orleans fired Dennis Allen during the season. Under Moore’s guidance, Philadelphia was seventh in the league in points scored, went 14-3, and won the NFC East.

Moore also helped the Cowboys win an NFC East title during his four years as their offensive coordinator.

Nick Sirianni among two coaches remaining from 2021 hiring cycle after Jets fire Robert Saleh

Nick Sirianni and Dan Campbell are among the final two coaches remaining from 2021 hiring cycle after Jets fire Robert Saleh

After being named the Eagles head coach, Nick Sirianni was laughed at and mocked following his introductory press conference. Still, he’s one of the last survivors from the 2021 coaching cycle after the Jets fired Robert Saleh on Tuesday morning.

Adam Schefter reported that defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich will be the interim head coach.

With the move, only Sirianni and the Lions’ Dan Campbell remain as coaching hires from four years ago.

According to ESPN Research, Saleh is now the third head coach fired after losing a game in London. The Raiders fired coach Dennis Allen in 2014 the day after they lost 38-14 to the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium, while the Dolphins fired coach Joe Philbin in 2015 the day after they lost 27-14 to the Jets at Wembley. Saleh’s firing comes two days after the Jets lost 23-17 to the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Saleh was 20-36 in parts of three seasons as the Jets head coach, including 2-3 in 2024.

Sirianni is 36-19 as Eagles head coach. The team has made three straight playoff appearances, including a Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs in 2022.

Campbell has amassed an even 27-27-1 record in Detroit despite starting 4-19-1 through his first 24 games. He’s delivered the team’s first division title in 30 years and two playoff wins—double the number the franchise had had in the previous 60 years.

Eagles add gameday coaching operations title to Dom DiSandro’s growing responsibilities

Dom DiSandro plays an integral role in the Eagles success, and with the team looking to make sure he’s never banned from the sidelines again, he’s been given a semi-promotion, and added responsibility among the organization.

Dom DiSandro plays an integral role in the Eagles’ success, and with the team looking to ensure he’s never banned from the sidelines again, he’s been given a semi-promotion and added responsibility within the organization.

Jeff McLane of The Inquirer reports that Philadelphia’s security director will now have the title of ‘gameday coaching operations.’

DiSandro was banned from the sidelines for the rest of the regular season after he was ejected from Philadelphia’s blowout loss to San Franciso following an incident on the sidelines.

An already intense game grew chippy after tensions escalated when Dre Greenlaw tackled Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith after the whistle near the Philadelphia sideline.

The late hit drew a 15-yard penalty, and as players from both teams got involved in a mini-scuffle, DiSandro, the Eagles security chief, stepped in between Greenlaw and DeVonta Smith.

While separating the two, DiSandro touched Greenlaw, who took exception and shoved the Eagles’ security before things simmered down.

Greenlaw and DiSandro were ejected, and San Francisco would win 42-19.

The change in DiSandro’s title and game-day duties means he’s now a part of the coaching staff, and it’ll prevent the league from being able to discipline him should there be another episode on the sideline with his involvement.

WATCH: Eagles DT Jalen Carter has high praise for Vic Fangio and his old-school style

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter says he loves Vic Fangio and his old-school approach

Vic Fangio has his haters in Miami, but the Eagles’ new defensive coordinator is feeling all the love upon his return to Philadelphia.

After departing the Dolphins, Fangio has faced criticism for his coaching style and ability to relate to players, but two of the Eagles’ most important defenders approve of Fangio’s approach.

Darius Slay vouched for Fangio, and on Wednesday, star defensive tackle Jalen Carter praised the legendary play-caller while explaining how his old-school approach is welcoming.

Carter’s comments about Fangio come just 24 hours after Dolphins safety Jevon Holland raved about how new defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver relates to players. Asked what the difference is with Weaver, Holland said: “It’s the fact that he’s a good person that makes a difference.”

After the late-season collapse and hiccups under Jonathan Gannon and Sean Desai, the Eagles, and the players appear to welcome Fangio and his hard coaching style.

Eagles-Giants set to reach new heights after Saquon Barkley, Tiki Barber back and forth

The Eagles rivalry with the Giants will reach new heights of hatred after Saquon Barkley’s social media back and forth with Tiki Barber

Saquon Barkley is officially an Eagle in the minds of fans and media after his Monday afternoon exchange with Giants legend Tiki Barber.

Barkley was celebrating a three-year, $37.75 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles when Barber fired this shot at the former Giants superstar.

“He’s dead to us now. You’re dead to us, Saquon,” Barber said Monday. “Good luck, you’re dead to me.”

Barkley responded as only an Eagle could, calling the former Giants running back a “hater.”

The Eagles and Giants are already must-see TV every season, but the two games this year will certainly be prime-time affairs, especially after New York acquired Brian Burns via trade.

Here’s social media reaction to the back and forth.

Eagles will not tender TE Jack Stoll, making him an unrestricted free agent

Tight end Jack Stoll will be an unrestricted free agent after the Philadelphia Eagles decided to not offer a restricted free agency tender

Philadelphia has a new offensive coordinator with Kellen Moore replacing Brian Johnson, and the changes are now trickling down to the roster.

Tight end Jack Stoll was a restricted free agent and would have been designated to remain in Philadelphia had GM Howie Roseman offered him a tender. The Eagles have opted not to, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports, meaning Stoll will test unrestricted free agency.

Stoll has been more run blocker than pass catcher over his first two seasons in the NFL, and his production diminishes anytime Dallas Goedert is out of the lineup.

If Stoll indeed signs elsewhere, one player to watch will be Albert Okwuegbunam.

The Eagles signed the tight end to a one-year contract extension ahead of NFL free agency after he played 57 offensive snaps and spent most of the season buried on the depth chart behind Goedert, Stoll and Grant Calcaterra.

Philadelphia acquired Okwuegbunam from Denver after a preseason finale in which the versatile tight end caught seven passes for 109 yards and a touchdown. But the Broncos didn’t have room for him on their roster, so they made a deal with the Eagles. Philadelphia traded a 2025 sixth-round pick and a 2025 seventh-rounder to the Broncos for Okweugbunam last August.

A fourth-round pick out of Missouri, Okweugbunam was targeted just once in four games of action last season and did not have a catch. Under Moore, an innovative play-caller, Okweugbunam has a better chance to find a role.

Report: Eagles have a real interest in signing Giants free agent RB Saquon Barkley

Howard Eskin reports that the Philadelphia Eagles are interested in signing New York Giants free agent running back Saquon Barkley

The Eagles need a running back, and three players are testing free agency.

A local star could be looking to make a statement to his current team while remaining in the rugged NFC East.

Howard Eskin does his bit of news-breaking in Philadelphia.

The legendary sports radio host and analyst reports that the Eagles are seriously interested in signing former Penn State star Saquon Barkley.

In 14 games last season, Barkley logged 962 yards and six rushing touchdowns, 41 receptions for 280 yards, and four touchdowns for the 6-11 Giants.

Barkley would pair well with Kenneth Gainwell while giving Philadelphia an explosive playmaker in Kellen Moore’s offense.

Rams hire former Eagles DC Sean Desai as a senior defensive assistant

The Los Angeles Rams are hiring Sean Desai as a senior defensive assistant after being fired by the Philadelphia Eagles

Sean Desai is headed west after losing his job with the Eagles, landing on Sean McVay’s Rams staff as a senior defensive assistant.

Chris Shula replaced the departed Raheem Morris, who landed the Atlanta Falcons head coaching job, and he’s bringing in Desai for a critical role.

One of Desai’s best performances as a defensive coordinator came in Week 5 against the Rams when Philadelphia’s defense sacked quarterback Matthew Stafford four times and held the Los Angeles Rams to under 60 yards rushing.

All-Pro pass rusher Haason Reddick logged two tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks, and 2 QB hits in the win.

Jalen Ramsey suggests Vic Fangio misused Dolphins’ CBs, Should Eagles be worried?

After Miami announced they were releasing Xavien Howard, Jalen Ramsey says he won’t forgive Vic Fangio for misusing the Dolphins cornerbacks

Vic Fangio brought his talents to Philadelphia, and Jalen Ramsey is among those in Miami who didn’t shed any tears about his departure.

During the Pro Bowl, Ramsey stated that he “wished Fangio well,” but his real feelings came out after it was revealed that the Dolphins would release star cornerback Xavien Howard.

After the release was reported, Ramsey took to social media to proclaim Howard as the “best cornerback in Dolphins history.”

Ramsey’s comments at the bottom of the post should be most concerning for the Eagles, as he suggested that someone failed to utilize the talents of two All-Pro caliber cornerbacks properly.

Last season, the Dolphins were 19th in the DVOA rankings.

Miami finished 10th in yards allowed (18th in 2022) and ninth in yards allowed per play (14th in 2022) with Fangio as defensive coordinator. The Dolphins also finished third in the NFL in sacks (56) and tied for eighth in forced turnovers (27).

The Eagles were No. 26 in yards and No. 30 in points allowed.

Ramsey’s comments could worry some Eagles fans, but Philadelphia’s last two defensive coordinators were Fangio disciples, and they likely misused Darius Slay and James Bradberry at times.

Fangio’s scheme implements some man-coverage principles and creates a lot of versatility in his defensive calls. His defense focuses on limiting explosive plays with heavy zone coverage and looks that give opposing offenses a chance to run the ball.

Fangio’s defenses don’t blitz a lot either, with the idea being to limit explosive passing plays, force teams to run the football, and then win with four pass rushers up front.

With Fangio now in Philadelphia, Ramsey and the Dolphins defenders should be pleased with Anthony Weaver and his defensive approach.

Eagles announce finalized coaching staff for 2024 season

The Philadelphia Eagles announced the addition of nine new coaches to the staff, including Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio and Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore

The Eagles announced a revamped coaching staff for 2024 that’ll include significant changes at offensive and defensive coordinator positions.

In all, the Eagles welcome nine new coaches to the staff, including Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio and Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore.

Three members from last year’s coaching staff return with new titles.
