Toronto’s coaching staff has no motivation to win this game after locking up the 1st seed in the East and will instead shift its focus to just keeping its stars healthy.

Winnipeg is in a must-win situation in order to compete for the top spot in the West and should take advantage of Toronto resting multiple stars. Give me the team that has more motivation to win, coming off an embarrassing loss last time out.

Toronto (-450) will cost you 4 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s just too much risk for not enough reward.

One has to wonder about Toronto’s motivation after wrapping up the East Division title. Ouellette, the team’s leading rusher, will be rested, and Phillips, the team’s 2nd leading receiver, is out with a groin issue. The Argos also have their 2nd best rusher, Harris, out with a knee ailment.

PASS.

Against the spread

HAMILTON +9.5 (-115) has rallied. The team was a mess in the 2 games following the injury to Mitchell, but the Ti-Cats have won 3 of the past 4 games, while also going 3-1 ATS. The Tiger-Cats catch Toronto the week after clinching, and that’s a good spot.

Will Hamilton scoot up the highway and steal a win in T-Dot? I’m not feeling that. However, it should be able to keep this game within single digits for its first cover of the season against Toronto, a team which is part banged up, and part cautious.

Over/Under

UNDER 49.5 (-110) is a strong play. I don’t like the fact the Argos are going to be without Ouellette and Harris, the top 2 backs. Yes, that could mean QB Chad Kelly is slinging it early and often, but I think the Toronto offense might be slightly disjointed in this post-clinch home game.

Against the spread

The better play is taking MONTREAL -1.5 (+100), saving yourself a few loonies in the process. The Als have dominated this series against the number, covering 12 of the past 14 meetings while going 5-2 ATS in their last 7 visits to McMahon Stadium.

It’s hard to be confident in the Als, other than their dominant numbers in this series, as Montreal has dropped the past 4 games overall. However, Calgary has also dropped 4 of the past 5 games overall. It was a 1.5-point underdog in Week 8 in Montreal and fell by a 25-18 score. Look for the Als to cover again.

Over/Under

OVER 47.5 (-110) is the lean, but go very, very lightly.

The Over has outpaced the Under 2-1 in the past 3 games for the Stamps and is 4-2 in the past 6 games overall for the Als. However, the Under did connect in the first meeting back in Week 8 between these teams.
