The Arizona Cardinals and vice president of player personnel Quentin Harris have parted ways, according to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones. He had been with the organization for 16 years in the scout department.
Harris, in his playing days, played for seasons for the Cardinals and then joined the scouting department as a pro scout in 2008. He moved to the assistant director of scouting in 2010 and then was made the director in 2013 when Steve Keim became general manager. In 2019, he became Keim’s right-hand man as the director of player personnel and then was made the vice president of player personnel in 2021.
He was even the interim general manager with Adrian Wilson when Keim went on a leave of absence before Keim left the team.
However, it always felt like this day was coming. Harris interviewed for the general manager job and was passed over for Monti Ossenfort. Ossenfort then hired Dave Sears to be his assistant general manager, who is above Harris in the organizational hierarchy.
Adrian Wilson, who was co-interim GM with Harris, left last year for a job with the Carolina Panthers, and Harris remained in the front office.
Harris was the last remaining of the highest executives with Steve Keim remaining including Wilson and Terry McDonough, who was fired and has since filed a lawsuit for wrongful termination, among other things.
We will see where Harris lands after this change.
With Harris out, this front office is now 100% Ossenfort’s.
