Cardinals to have special guests announce Day 3 draft picks

Former players, current executives and a superfan will get to announce their picks on Saturday.

The NFL draft begins this Thursday night. Most of the attention is on the first round and league commissioner Roger Goodell announces those selections.

The Arizona Cardinals will have a number of other people announcing their other selections.

They announced their Day 3 announcers on Tuesday.

With picks in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds, the team announced they will have former players, a fan and current front office executives announce the picks.

For their fifth-round pick, former backup quarterback Drew Stanton and former running back Marcell Shipp will announce it. Stanton played for Arizona from 2013-2017 and went 9-5 as a starter. Shipp played seven seasons for the Cardinals from 2001-2007 and twice rushed for more than 800 yards in a season. They will announce it from State Farm Stadium.

In the sixth round, Tim Tekulve, this year’s Cardinals Fan of the Year, will announce it from the NFL draft in Cleveland.

In the seventh round, their two picks will be announced by Adrian Wilson and Quentin Harris. Wilson is the team’s Vice President of Pro Personnel and Harris is Vice President of Player Personnel.

On Day 2 on Friday, starting right tackle Kelvin Beachum is scheduled to announce the Cardinals’ second-round pick.

As of now, the Cardinals do not have a selection in the third or fourth rounds.
