Cardinals ‘hopeful’ for return of S Jalen Thompson, TE Maxx Williams this week

“It would be nice to get both of them back but both of them are day-to-day at this point,” Kliff Kingsbury said.

The Arizona Cardinals, coming off the bye week, return to work on Monday and will get some practice in. They could see reinforcements this week with players getting healthy.

Safety Jalen Thompson has already been designated to return from injured reserve and has been able to practice for the last couple of weeks. Williams has been on injured reserve since Week 2 but head coach Kliff Kingsbury said a couple of weeks ago he potentially could return after the bye.

Both might be able to come back and play against the Miami Dolphins this week, but Kingsbury wouldn’t say for sure.

“I’m hopeful,” he said of their return. “Both those guys we’ll get out there today and run them around and see where they are at.”

That would indicate that Williams will likely be designated to return, allowing him to return to practice.

Thompson likely will be back. This will be the third week since he was designated for return. Williams’ availability for the game is less certain.

“It would be nice to get both of them back but both of them are day-to-day at this point,” Kingsbury said.
