Can the USMNT win the World Cup? Santa Hamm believes

The USMNT winning a World Cup may be a tough ask, even for Santa

Santa Claus gets plenty of big asks around this time of year, but the U.S. men’s national team winning a World Cup? That may be one of his toughest challenges.

In Fox’s latest World Cup commercial, Jon Hamm reprises his role as Santa as he reads a letter from a fan who doesn’t want any gifts this Christmas. Instead, they simply want the USMNT to lift the game’s biggest prize.

“You’re the guy who makes reindeer fly, you can make anything happen,” the letter states. “This is the team that’s going to make a run at the World Cup. All we have to do is believe. Last time I checked, that’s like your whole thing.”

The ad then focuses on some of the USMNT’s biggest stars taking the pitch with the team’s signature “I believe that we will win” chant in the background.

The U.S. will begin what it hopes will be a long stay in Qatar with a match against Wales on November 21, which the commercial concludes by advertising.

The ad is the third in Fox’s series of commercials with Hamm playing Santa Claus as the network looks to embrace an unusual winter World Cup.

The second commercial also contains a host of other big names, including Tom Brady, Mariah Carey, Ellie Kemper, and several members of the USMNT.
