Can Cameron Thomas’ versatility along the DL be what the Cowboys are looking for?

The Cowboys’ edge rotation is in flux, and Thomas could be a viable, versatile piece of the final puzzle if drafted. Tyler Browning ( @DiabeticTyler ) puts the highly talented San Diego State edge rusher under the microscope.

Cameron Thomas is an intriguing edge rush prospect out of San Diego State, and perhaps the most intriguing thing about him is he’s so much more than that. Playing with his brother Zachary, Thomas has been asked to play up and down the line for the Aztecs, showing his versatility. as detailed in a recent interview with Draft Wire, he’s played everywhere from nose tackle to wide-9 edge defender, and enjoys displaying the various skill sets each employ.

Continually working against his offensive lineman brother helps too, as he’s been an All-Mountain West player multiple times in his career and carved out a spot in January’s Senior Bowl where he showed out well. A look a bit deeper into the prospect to see if he’s a fit for Dan Quinn and the Dallas Cowboys is in order, along with where he could potentially be drafted.
