Caleb Williams rising in this week’s College Wire Heisman Poll

In the latest Heisman Poll from the College Wire editorial team, Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud still leads the way but Caleb Williams is gaining traction.

A new week of college football games is in the books with Week 6 set to take center stage this weekend.

C.J. Stroud is continuing to lead the way this week after the Buckeyes took care of Rutgers over the weekend. USC signal caller [autotag]Caleb Williams[/autotag] saw his stock rise and overtook Alabama QB Bryce Young as the No. 2 player in the poll.

We do have several newcomers including TCU quarterback Max Duggan after the Horned Frogs’ massive blowout win over Oklahoma. Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa also joined the group after his performance in the win over Michigan State.

Illinois running back Chase Brown also crept into this week’s poll after his Fighting Illini sent Paul Chryst and Wisconsin packing. Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs ran his way into the poll after scoring two touchdowns of 70+ yards against Arkansas.

Each editor picked their top three choices with the top candidate receiving five points, the second choice receiving three points, and the final choice receiving one point.
