Buffaloes TE Austin Smith hits the transfer portal

Colorado lost TE Austin Smith to the transfer portal

On Saturday, tight end Austin Smith became one of the latest Colorado Buffaloes football players to announce his intentions to enter the transfer portal. Smith will have three years of eligibility remaining after playing in Boulder for two seasons.

The athletic TE came to Colorado as an oversized wideout and took a redshirt year to learn his new position. Smith was able to hit the field last season after earning some preseason praise from former head coach Karl Dorrell. In last season’s Minnesota game, Smith was able to score a touchdown on his first career catch on a nifty one-handed snag.

We wish the best to Smith at his next school.
