Bryce Young officially signs rookie contract with the Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young and Carolina agree on a four-year deal with $37.9 million

The No. 1 overall pick from the 2023 NFL draft, [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag], and the Carolina Panthers have reached a four-year deal worth $37.9 million, which will be fully guaranteed. It is a new era in Carolina and the franchise is fully committed to giving Young the resources he needs to succeed early on. The team will have a fifth-year option on Young.

The Panthers fired former head coach, Matt Rhule, just a few weeks into the 2022 season and replaced him with former Indianapolis coach Frank Reich.

Reich is highly respected in NFL circles, especially when it comes to the offensive side of the game as he played in the NFL for over a decade himself. He will put Young in situations to succeed early on, but all reports indicate that they have complete trust in Young to run the entire playbook as a rookie, which is rare.

Carolina has also done a very good job of surrounding Young with quality talent for his rookie season, especially when you consider all it took to earn the No. 1 overall pick to select him. Running back Miles Sanders and tight end Hayden Hurst are nice complementary pieces with a receiving corps consisting of Adam Thielen, DJ Chark, and Jonathan Mingo among others. The front office isn’t spending a ton of money on their offense which could put them in a position to make a run at a player or two before the trade deadline if they are in contention for a Playoff spot.

For Young, it’s nice to get the contract signed and out of the way so he can focus on the upcoming season. $37.9 million is life-changing money, but nobody can say he hasn’t earned it. Young has also picked up a few endorsement deals over the past few weeks.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Young and other former Alabama players in the NFL.
