Browns Vs. Chiefs: OBJ, Mathieu headline inactives

Two key starters for each team will miss Sunday’s marquee matchup between the Browns and Chiefs. OBJ and Honey Badger are the two biggest names on the list:

The Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs face off in Week 1 but, unfortunately, neither team will come into the game at full strength.

The Browns had been trying to keep their players healthy and get a few guys back from major injuries they suffered last season. Unfortunately, two of those players are on the inactive list as both Odell Beckham Jr. and Grant Delpit will miss today’s game.

Along with those two, the following Browns will be inactive:

  • K Chris Naggar
  • LB Tony Fields II
  • OL James Hudson III
  • OL Michael Dunn
  • DT Tommy Togiai

Donovan Peoples-Jones will start in place of Beckham Jr.

Naggar being inactive means that they believe Chase McLaughlin is healthy enough to handle the kicking duties.

Tyrann Mathieu headlines the Kansas City inactives. Mathieu missed over a week with COVID-19 and was just activated on Saturday. Defensive end Frank Clark is another big name that will miss Sunday’s matchup.

On top of those two, the following Chiefs will be inactive:

  • CB DeAndre Baker
  • OL Austin Blythe
  • OL Laurent Duvernay-Tardif
  • WR Daurice Fountain

Browns Vs. Chiefs in Week 1 may be an AFC Championship preview but both teams will be missing key contributors today.
