For the third time in five weeks, the Indianapolis Colts will be without their rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson. This time, the fourth overall pick has suffered an AC joint sprain in his shoulder, and The Athletic’s Diana Russini has reported he will be out four weeks or more as it heals up. For the Cleveland Browns, this means they will almost certainly see Gardner Minshew when they travel to Indianapolis in Week 7.
The Browns cannot look ahead of the undefeated San Francisco 49ers this week, however, as they take on a juggernaut looking to advance to 3-2 on the season. This is not a game many expect the Browns to win as they have their backs against the wall.
Even if the Browns start the season 2-3, however, there is plenty of reason for optimism the rest of the way out as the sky is not falling in Cleveland just yet. Week 7 against the banged-up Colts could give them the jumpstart they need.
