Browns add speed and playmaking at WR in DraftWire’s latest 2024 NFL mock draft

Speed is exactly what the Browns wide receiver room needs more of

With the 2023 season in the rearview for the Cleveland Browns, it is time to begin looking at free agency and the 2024 NFL draft. We know wide receiver will be a need for them, but could Texas’ Xavier Worthy be the answer?

One thing that can be agreed upon is that the Browns must add more speed and verticality to their wide receiver room.

In one of DraftWire’s latest mock drafts, they agreed with the more speed needed by adding Texas wide receiver Worthy. I would love this pick as Worthy is exactly what the doctor ordered as he has the elite-level speed to take the top off a defense.

Adding someone with the skill set of Worthy will help players like David Njoku do even more damage underneath. Worthy isn’t just a straight-line speed guy he also has great short-area explosiveness that he uses to force missed tackles take small receptions and turn them into explosive plays.

It will be interesting to see what areas Andrew Berry attacks in the draft vs. what he does in free agency to build off of the success of the 2023 season.
