Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy sits in on quarterback meetings

Jerry Jeudy said the QB meetings “helped me a lot with the play calling, with the offensive scheme and understanding the timing of plays.”

Earlier this offseason, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson praised the team’s players for going above and beyond to prepare for the 2022 season.

One example of that was Denver’s wide receivers traveling to California to work with Wilson on their own time away from the team this offseason. Another example that Wilson mentioned was wide receiver Jerry Jeudy sitting in on quarterback meetings at the team’s facility.

Last week, Jeudy said sitting in on those meetings has helped him as a receiver.

“Just learning the mindset of the quarterbacks — understanding the reads and understanding the quarterback thought process and what they’re going through — that’s the biggest thing I took away,” Jeudy said.

“That really helps me learn how to run my routes — knowing when to speed things up, knowing when I’m able to slow things down. That’s the biggest takeaway I learned from being in the quarterback room.”

Jeudy also indicated that he will sit in on future meetings as well.

“It helped me a lot with the play calling, with the offensive scheme and understanding the timing of plays,” Jeudy said. “I’m glad I’m doing it.”

After two underwhelming seasons to begin his career, Jeudy will be aiming for a big breakout season in 2022. Based on the work he’s put in this summer — both on and off the field — it certainly seems safe to say the receiver is setting himself up for success.
