Broncos WR DaeSean Hamilton has been like ‘a big brother’ for KJ Hamler

“He’s my big brother, my older brother, so I know he’ll help me,” Hamler said. “I’ll be under his wing learning.”

Broncos wide receivers DaeSean Hamilton and KJ Hamler were teammates at Penn State in 2017. After Denver selected Hamler in the second round of the NFL draft, Hamilton and Hamler will be reunited in Denver.

That’s welcomed news to Hamler, who considers Hamilton a big brother.

“I’ve been talking to him throughout this process,” Hamler said during a conference call with reporters on April 24. “I don’t know a lot, but DaeSean will help me out through it. He’s my big brother, my older brother, so I know he’ll help me. I’ll be under his wing learning.”

Hamilton was selected by the Broncos in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He has totaled 58 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns since then. This offseason, Hamilton will serve as a mentor for Hamler.

“I’ll be more comfortable going to an organization knowing I know somebody,” Hamler said. “He showed me the ropes as a freshman coming in at Penn State. I’ve always kept in touch with him.

“I’ve always looked up to him as a big brother, so actually getting to play with him at the best-of-the-best, seeing how he progressed from his redshirt freshman year to now. It’s going to be amazing.”
