Broncos trade up for QB Jayden Daniels in 2024 NFL mock draft

This NFL mock draft has the Broncos trading up to the third overall pick to select LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels.

In a recent 2024 NFL mock draft, Touchdown Wire’s Doug Farrar has the Denver Broncos pulling off a blockbuster trade with the New England Patriots to land their franchise quarterback.

The Broncos move up from pick No. 12 to pick No. 3 (for an undisclosed cost) to select LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels. In Farrar’s mock draft, Denver is “hoping [the trade] works better for them than it did for the San Francisco 49ers and Trey Lance a few years back.”

Three years ago, the 49ers moved up from 12th overall to 3rd overall in a swap with the Miami Dolphins. To complete the trade, San Francisco gave up three first-round picks (2021, 2022, 2023) and a third-round pick (2022).

If the Broncos were to make such a trade this year, they can’t afford to miss on the quarterback they select. Daniels, 23, is widely considered a top-three QB in this year’s class. Most pundits have him ranked below Caleb Williams and alongside Drake Maye.

The 2024 NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27.
