Broncos TE Greg Dulcich now has a foot injury

Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich now has a foot injury after returning from his hamstring injury.

Denver Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday, starting his 21-day window to return from injured reserve to the 53-man roster. After fully participating in Wednesday’s practice, though, Dulcich was held out on Thursday and the team added “foot” to his injury designation.

Dulcich has now been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Detroit Lions with hamstring/foot injuries.

Broncos coach Sean Payton was asked about Dulcich’s recurring hamstring injuries on Wednesday.

“I would be the last one to ask,” Payton said. “We’ve studied body weight, gait, how he runs, and what’s different from college. He’s flown everywhere with his rehab. I do think we have a really good handle relative to moving forward. He’s seen a lot of specialists.

“A lot of times [it’s about] how much weight is the [body] meant to carry. I say that respectfully. Then, [it’s about] paying attention to it. He’s been really diligent — extremely diligent — in the recovery and everything he’s needed to do.”

The Broncos will now wait at least another week to active Dulcich to the 53-man roster.

After waiving outside linebacker Ronnie Perkins on Thursday, the team had room on the active roster, but Denver is expected to call up tight end Lucas Krull from the practice squad to fill that spot.
