Broncos select WR Henry Ruggs in new NFL mock draft

In this new 2020 NFL mock draft, the Broncos select Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs III in the first round.

In his latest first-round 2020 NFL mock draft for Draft Wire, Luke Easterling has the Denver Broncos selecting Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs III with the 15th overall pick.

Here is Easterling’s commentary with the selection:

Drew Lock already has his big, physical pass-catcher in Courtland Sutton, but he needs a big-play target with the speed to challenge defenses over the top and after the catch. Ruggs is a burner who can score every time he touches the ball, and would be a steal here after he runs as fast as we expect at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Ruggs (6-0, 190 pounds) caught 98 passes for 1,716 yards and 24 touchdowns during his three seasons with the Crimson Tide. As Easterling noted, he is a speedy receiver who would give Lock another explosive target.

Wide receiver has been a popular pick for Denver in mock drafts.
