Broncos host TE Luke Schoonmaker on top-30 visit

The Broncos recently hosted Michigan TE Luke Schoonmaker on a top-30 visit ahead of the NFL draft.

The Denver Broncos recently hosted Michigan tight end Luke Schoonmaker on a top-30 visit, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. NFL teams are allowed to host up to 30 non-local prospects at their facility leading up to the draft each offseason.

Schoonmaker (6-5, 251 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.63 seconds and a 20-yard shuttle in 4.27 seconds at the NFL combine. He hauled in 35 receptions for 418 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games with the Wolverines last season. Before that, Shoonmaker totaled 17 receptions for 165 yards and three scores in nine games in 2021.

Draft Wire ranked Schoonmaker as the 10th-best tight end in this year’s class after the combine.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Shoonmaker to Dawson Knox, a third-round pick in 2019 who made the Pro Bowl last season. Schoonmaker is now projected to be a fourth-round pick in this year’s draft.

The Broncos currently hold pick No. 108 overall in the fourth round (view Denver’s complete order of draft picks).

The 2023 NFL draft will be held in Kansas City from April 27-29.
