The Denver Broncos had a pre-draft video call with Mississippi State cornerback Cameron Dantzler, according to Draft Wire’s Justin Melo.

Dantzler (6-2, 188 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.64 seconds and recorded a vertical jump of 34.5 inches at the combine earlier this offseason. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Dantzler to Al Harris, who earned two Pro Bowl nods during his 14-year career in the NFL.

“Dantzler can play in a variety of coverages but is a future starter as a confident press-man corner with early starting potential,” Zierlein wrote.

During his three seasons with the Bulldogs, Dantzler totaled 108 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 20 pass breakups, five interceptions and one forced fumble.

Dantzler is the 12th-best cornerback in this year’s class, according to Luke Easterling’s post-combine rankings on Draft Wire.

After losing Chris Harris to the Chargers during free agency, the Broncos need more depth at cornerback. Denver will have 10 picks to use in the draft (April 23-25).
