BREAKING: Shaun Wade will rejoin the Ohio State football team

Ohio State football CB Shaun Wade appeared on ESPN and announced his intentions to rejoin the team instead of remaining in the NFL draft.

The news just keeps getting better for the Ohio State football program. After fighting like the dickens to have a fall football season, the Big Ten finally announced that there will be a season that kicks off on October 23 and 24.

And quickly thereafter, attention quickly turned to the status of Wyatt Davis and Shaun Wade. Both declared for the 2021 NFL Draft because of uncertainty in the season, but both made it clear last season that they wanted to come back and be a part of the brotherhood for one more season.

It didn’t take long for Davis to make up his mind that he wanted to rejoin the program, and now, Wade wants to be a part of what’s building at Ohio State for one more season as well.

Wade appeared on ESPN Wednesday evening and announced his intentions to return to the program. He’ll rejoin the likes of Davis, Justin Fields, and a whole host of other players that believe they have what it takes to not only win a fourth Big Ten Championship in a row, but to also make a run at a national championship.

“I’m ready to come back and chase that national championship like back in January,” Wade said.

On why Wade made the decision to put off the NFL and come back, it boiled down to a few things, but one thing above all.

“Back in January I didn’t go to the (NFL) draft, and my goal was to come back be a captain, get my degree,” Wade said. “They did cancel football and now it’s back so — since it’s back we got a chance to win a national championship. That’s been my goal since day one. That’s what we’re striving for and that’s what we’ll strive for when we get back in October.”

I’m sure all of Buckeye Nation welcomes Wade and Davis both back and can’t wait to see what happens on the filed in 2020.
