We have an idea of the Texas Longhorns’ first SEC schedule ahead of its release on Wednesday night. Texas looks set to face a gauntlet of rabid road environments.
According to Chip Brown of 247Sports, the Longhorns are expected to face the Georgia Bulldogs at home, with matchups against the Texas A&M Aggies and Arkansas Razorbacks on the road. So far, that’s a tough draw.
By the 2024 season, Texas hopes to be in a place where it can compete with the league’s best teams. Albeit, given what Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is building, the bout between the Bulldogs and Longhorns would seem to heavily favor Georgia.
Arkansas and Texas A&M stand as perhaps the most rabid environments Texas will face in its new conference. LSU would probably make for the third most raucous for the Longhorns in the new league. Brad Crawford of 247Sports is predicting that Texas will face the trifecta on the road in 2024.
Here’s what we think we know about Texas’ schedule in its first SEC season.
