Alabama’s 2021 recruiting class got a lot stronger on Saturday when four-star prospect Monkell Goodwine committed to the Crimson Tide. The strong-side defensive end is considered one of the best prospects at his respective position.
The news of Goodwine’s commitment originally came via the SI social media accounts, including Twitter, where they streamed it live:

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Goodwine is rated as the nation’s No. 112 overall prospect, No. 9 strong-side defensive end and No. 4 player from the state of Maryland.
He is commitment No. 17 for Alabama’s 2021 class, and the first of the month of August. The Crimson Tide is still checking in with the No. 2 class (No. 1 in the SEC), but the gap between them and top-ranked Ohio State has closed after this commitment.
