Five-star point guard JD Davison committed to the Crimson Tide on Saturday, picking Alabama over Auburn, Kansas, and more

As if Saturday needed to get any better for Alabama fans, it did!

Five-star point guard JD Davison committed to the Crimson Tide on Saturday, picking Alabama over Auburn, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Memphis, Michigan, and more.

Davison, who is from Letohatchee, Alabama, averaged 30.4 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, and four blocks a contest.

He also helped lead Calhoun to a Class 2A title, is a two-time All-Metro player of the year, and is just four points away from 2,000 total for his high school career.

Davison is the nation’s No. 9-ranked overall player, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.

He is also rated the No. 1 point guard in the country by both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings and 247Sports.

247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer had this to say about Davison:

“Has a good physical build for a point guard. Extremely athletic. Explosive leaper who specializes in getting to the rim and finishing. Also has great body control and is a creative and adept finisher. Has a reliable jump shot to keep the defense honest. Sees the court well. Finds the diagonal pass. Can make the high degree of difficulty pass. Has the tools to be a high level perimeter defender and rebounder.”

Davison had this to say after his commitment:

“They’ve been recruiting me for a while now, I think they were my first offer, they got a good play-style and good coaching.”

With Davison’s commitment and last Sunday’s four-star small forward Jusaun Holt commitment to Alabama, the Crimson Tide now sits at No. 25 in the nation in recruiting per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.

This is an exciting pickup for Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide!
