Braelon Allen’s career day vs. Northwestern by the numbers

The Badger freshman put together the best performance of his young career

Tasked with leading Wisconsin’s backfield after a devastating season-ending injury to running back Chez Mellusi, true freshman Braelon Allen put the nation on notice during the Badgers’ 35-7 win over Northwestern.

It was a career day for Allen, who was involved in ten of Wisconsin’s first 12 offensive plays and carried the ball 25 times on the afternoon.

Allen looked like he was playing pinball with Northwestern’s defensive front, as he nearly never went down on first contact and turned 2-yard losses into 7-yard gains. Oh yeah, and of course he’s still only 17 years of age.

Allen set all kinds of records during his day against Northwestern, one that finished with three touchdowns for the Fond Du Lac native. Here is a look at the numbers from the freshman on a historic afternoon:
