Black Stripe Alert: Ohio State linebacker Reid Carrico sheds black stripe

Ohio State linebacker Reid Carrico is living a lifelong dream playing for the Buckeyes. He shed his black stripe on Tuesday.

Not only was Reid Carrico a highly touted recruit at linebacker, but growing up in Ironton, Ohio, he’s been a lifelong Ohio State fan. Now this young man can officially call himself a Buckeye after losing his black stripe earlier Tuesday.

Carrico comes to OSU as a top 100 player in the nation according to the 247 Sports composite ratings, and the No. 5 inside linebacker in the country. From the sounds of things, he’s had one heck of a spring and looking to make some noise in the fall.

“Hey man, it’s an honor to be here. I grew up a Buckeye fan. I want to thank all you guys. Thank H2. All the strength coaches. Go Bucks!” Carrico shared.

Talk about a dream coming true. To grow up an Ohio State fan and then be able to wear the scarlet and gray… Carrico has to be feeling on top of the world.
