The Buffalo Bills inked wide receiver Jamison Crowder to a cost-efficient, one-year deal this offseason.
CBS Sports liked that contract a lot. The outlet named it among their “best bargains” in the NFL.

Like Smith-Schuster, Crowder is more of a safety valve than a pure play-maker, and he’s also struggled to stay healthy in recent years. But paired with Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis on a Bills team starring Josh Allen at QB? He’s got a real chance to settle in and surprise people as a high-volume slot outlet, all for essentially pocket change.
Crowder, 29, might only be in Buffalo for a year. He’s also going to have to battle for playing time.
Even with Cole Beasley’s departure, Isaiah McKenzie was already was with the Bills upon Crowder’s signing. Then eventually Tavon Austin was also added and fifth-round rookie Khalil Shakir was drafted.
But Crowder has shown in his career that he can be depended upon–Tossing in the fact that Allen is the best quarterback he’s played with and Crowder could really be an impact maker for the Bills.
What the team might really be hoping for is Crowder to produce for the Bills… like he did against them. During his past three years with the New York Jets, Crowder really hurt his new team.
The then-Jets receiver notched 33 catches, 316 yards and two touchdowns against the Bills in little over four games (injured early in the final one). Sign Buffalo up for that sort of production from a player on a one-year “prove-it deal” any time.
