Bills workout 3 CBs, release Niles Scott via injury

Buffalo Bills had three cornerback workouts after releasing Niles Scott.

The Bills had a few minor roster items to note on Tuesday via the NFL’s transaction wire.

Per the list, the Bills have released Niles Scott via injury settlement. The defensive tackle signed with the Bills on Aug. 2 and was previously placed on waivers due to an undisclosed injury on Aug. 16, went unclaimed and the 24-year-old reached that settlement with the team on Tuesday. The Bills had since added Tanzel Smart and Justin Zimmer to their depth at the position.

The more interesting set of notes on the list were the Bills’ listed workouts. Buffalo brought in three cornerbacks to do so, Brian Allen, Charles Oliver and Kobe Williams. Allen, 26, was a fifth-round pick of the Steelers in 2017 and has only played special teams in his career. He was recently released by the Seahawks.

Oliver and Williams are both undrafted rookie free agents out of Texas A&M and Arizona State, respectively.

The Bills’ decision to workout all three comes on the heels of undrafted rookie cornerback Ike Brown surprisingly retiring on Monday. In addition, veteran Josh Norman is currently battling a hamstring issue.
