Bills’ Von Miller update: His season is over due to knee injury

A huge blow to the 2022 #Bills as Von Miller’s season is over:

The Buffalo Bills had a massive injury update on Wednesday and it’s a devastating blow: Pass rusher Von Miller’s season is over due to his knee injury.

On Wednesday, Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott confirmed the news via press conference.

McDermott said the Miller had what was called an “exploratory surgery” on Tuesday in Texas. It was a previously-scheduled procedure and during it, doctors discovered Miller’s ACL in his knee was torn.

Miller, 33, had previously been placed on injured reserve by the team on Dec. 1. He was originally injured on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions.

On the play, Miller was rolled up on from behind. A clip of it can be found below:

Almost immediately after Miller was hurt during the Lions contest, the Bills said they would wait seven to 10 days before having another look at his knee. The idea was to let swelling go down so they could determine Miller’s long-term fate.

Buffalo had hoped Miller would be able to return in four weeks after placing him on IR. However, the news ended up being the worst-possible update for the team.

Without Miller, former first-round pick Greg Rousseau now assumes top pass-rushing duties for the Bills. Behind him  will be a combination of AJ Epenesa, Shaq Lawson and Boogie Basham off of the edge going forward.

McDermott’s full update on Miller can be found in the attached video:
