The Buffalo Bills have traded up in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft and selected Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid.
In a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Bills sent their original top selection at No. 27 and a fourth rounder (No. 130) this year to jump up two spots.
A year ago at the 2022 draft, Buffalo also traded up two spots in the first round to select cornerback Kaiir Elam.
Kincaid was the first tight end select at the 2023 draft.
A quick look at his prowess as a playmaker and you’ll know why.
Kincaid is considered the best pass-catching tight end at this year’s draft. He does need to improve upon his blocking skill in the pros, but in being teamed up with the likes of Dawson Knox, Kincaid will have the opportunity to do just that.
Most of Kincaid’s college production came in 2022–but it was some year. In 12 games, he put up 70 catches, 890 yards and eight touchdowns. Those are strong numbers for a receiver, let alone tight end.
