The Buffalo Bills are very much on the outside looking in when it comes to the AFC postseason picture now.
Following their 24-18 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals (5-3) in Week 9, the Bills fall to 5-4 on the season. Currently that puts them in ninth place in the conference–The top seven teams make it to the postseason.
Making matters worse for Buffalo is their conference record which is 2-4. The Bills have time to turn it around, but the margin for error is getting smaller and smaller. Even quarterback Josh Allen is starting to admit that.
Even so, confidence remains high. Or at least he’s trying to keep it.
“It’s not pretty, it’s not going to be easy. But if there’s a locker room that can handle this, it’s this one,” Allen said.
“Losing is never fun, losing sucks. That’s one thing, though, we’re not going to let this divide us. We’re going to come together and we’re going to figure it out. I’ve got a lot of faith in the men in this locker room and the coaching staff,” Allen added.
Similar sentiments came from around the Bills locker room as well as head coach Sean McDermott, who said confidence remains.
“No, it’s not. These guys do a great job, they’re invested. It’s tough to win in the NFL,” McDermott said via video conference.
If confidence is truly still high, it’s going to have to start translating into wins and soon or else it won’t last.
