Bills’ Matt Milano, three Jets players fined after Week 1

One big difference between the #Bills & #Jets fines:

The Bills celebrated a win over the Raiders this past weekend.

Matt Milano celebrated the victory after paying a fine.

The NFL announced on Saturday that four total players were fined from the Bills’ 22-16 overtime loss to the Jets in Week 1. The only one from the Bills was Milano.

The linebacker was dinged $10,927 for unsportsmanlike conduct. Usually a seemingly mild-manner person, Milano intercepted Jets quarterback Zach Wilson and undoubtedly ran up in the QBs face to celebrate:

The three other finals for the Jets in the game were:

  • LB Quincy Williams was fined $13,333 for diving at the knees of Bills OL Connor McGovern.
  • LB Quincy Williams was fined for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Bills RB James Cook. It was another $13,333 ding.
  • LB Chazz Surrant was fined $4,833 for tripping TE Quintin Morris on the game-winning punt return.

During the game itself, Milano was flagged on the play. The three involving the Jets were not penalized.
