After a defeat like that, what else can you say?
On Sunday, the Bills lost 27-10 to the Bengals. Their Super Bowl dreams ended in the divisional round for the second-straight year.
Following the contest, words were not minced in the Bills locker room.
At the top, head coach Sean McDermott was direct as you can be.
“No excuses. They beat us,” the coach said via video conference. “Give credit to them. They outphysicaled us.”
For players, emotions were even higher.
Receiver Stefon Diggs ran out of the locker room and refused to speak to the media. Those who did, such as quarterback Josh Allen and offensive lineman Dion Dawkins, were clearly upset.
Above them all, it was the mild-mannered Matt Milano who likely gave the most-candid review.
The linebacker said “there was no real energy, no juice, no momentum” upon reflecting on his team’s loss.
Many would say Milano saw what the rest of us did.
