Bills’ Josh Allen on Commanders’ D-line: ‘One of the best in the league’

Josh Allen, Sean McDermott on a ridiculous #Commanders D-line:

The Bills offense is in for a huge test against the Commanders and their defensive line. It’s hard to find a deeper unit in the NFL.

The Commanders’ front includes Chase Young, Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen and Montez Sweat. It’s a collection of talent 31 other teams want but don’t have… and now the Bills will have to do their best to contain it.

The first group that comes to mind is the offensive line. The Bills struggled against a strong Jets D-line in Week 1, but can their confidence built against the Raiders last week carry over into their upcoming matchup?

Regardless, Sean McDermott didn’t put it all on the O-line. The coach says it’s all about the collective.

“A lot of former first-round picks along that front,” McDermott said. “It’s not just the offensive line, we’ve got to make sure everyone involved is managing that as much as we can.”

Included in that is quarterback Josh Allen. The Bills offense runs through him, but it’s not just about the passing and running. Blocking adjustments fall in Allen’s list of responsibilities and he knows he’s going to have to be on top of that.

“It’s one of the best, if not the best group in the league up front,” Allen said.
