Bills, Jordan Poyer agree to revised contract amid extension talks

#Bills, Jordan Poyer agree to revised contract amid extension talks:

Amid their efforts to sign Jordan Poyer to a contract extension, the Buffalo Bills did manage to get him to agree to a revised contract at least.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, there is plenty of good reason for Poyer to agree to that. Essentially the team gave the 31-year-old a potential pay increase.

The contract agreement increases the dollar amount Poyer can earn via incentives. Previously, he could earn an additional $500,000 through various incentives. Now that’s up to $2 million.

However, the new deal does not mean he has agreed to a contact extension yet. Poyer’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, did note the move is appreciated though:

Entering the final year of his current deal, Poyer has made his desires to be signed to an extension known throughout the offseason. No new deal has yet to be announced, but the adjusted contract could be a step in the right direction.
