Bills injury update: Jordan Phillips has surgery on wrist

#Bills injury update: Jordan Phillips has surgery on wrist:

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips is set to miss at least a game or two of the team’s stretch run toward the 2023 postseason.

Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott announced that Phillips had surgery on his wrist. He sustained the injury in Week 15’s win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Phillips re-signed in Buffalo last offseason via a one-year deal.

If the 31-year-old were to land on injured reserve, he would sit out at least four weeks. McDermott did not indicate that would be the case at this point, but earlier this season, tight end Dawson Knox had surgery on his wrist and was placed on IR.

Without Phillips, the Bills (8-6) did get some good defensive tackle news: DaQuan Jones is back. Buffalo opened his 21-day practice window, but he’s not going to play in Week 16 against the Los Angeles Chargers (5-9) per McDermott.

Throughout recent games, defensive tackle Poona Ford has been a healthy scratch and he appears the most-likely candidate to fill Phillips’ shoes against the Chargers.

Phillips has 2.5 sacks this season, including the one he recorded against the Cowboys.
