Bills hire Adam Henry as wide receivers coach

#Bills hire Adam Henry as wide receivers coach:

Adam Henry has been hired as the Buffalo Bills’ new wide receivers coach.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that update on Tuesday. Henry replaces Chad Hall, who departed Buffalo for the Jacksonville Jaguars to take their receivers coach position.

Hall’s contract was up and it’s unknown if he was offered an extension.

Henry, 50, most recently served as co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach at University of Indiana. However, his coaching career includes five stops in the pros with the Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants, Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys.

Henry played wide receiver at McNeese State University in Louisiana. He began his coaching career after a brief stint in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints during training camp in 1995 and 1996.

Hiring Henry means that Zach Azzanni will not become Buffalo’s receivers coach. He was most-recently with the Denver Broncos as their wideout coach, however, he was also said to still be in the running to be retained by Denver. The Bills interviewed Azzanni earlier this week.

Henry’s hiring has highlighted his relationship with free-agent receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Henry coached “OBJ” with the Giants and Browns and in the college level with LSU. Buffalo and Beckham have long been connected.

Bills Wire will continue to bring updates relating to members of the team’s front office throughout the spring.
